Q: Newbie - Very Fast Pulse
asked by: lbyron on November 29th, 2004

My girfriend is 19, regularily her pulse is at around 50 - 60, but today it has been around 150 (between 140 and 160) I am wondering if this could be bad, she isnt anxious or worried about anything, and says she doesnt feel weird, except maybe a bit "out of it". I am wondering if this could be a symptom of something I should be concerned about. I am very worried and if anyone has any advice, I would very much appreciate any help I could find. Thank you.

Extremely eHealthy
If she is not taking any medications that could be the cause of increased pulse(even otc meds can do this!!),she should see her doctor.Cold medicine can cause increased pulse,as well as diet drugs.Ask her if she is taking any of these. To be safe, she should get a check-up.Good luck.Patty
