I'm newly pregnant...6 weeks and 4 days and I like to color my hair at home and at the salon, can I still do that without harming my baby?

I read that there are no direct links between birth defects and dyes but the cye does get into your bloodstream so talk to your doctor about it. I think it would be safer also if you waited until your 2nd trimester.

Most doctors say its fine as long as theres no bleach.
But its a personal choice.

Dymond,

that ain't true.....I went to a salon and got my hair dyed dark brown a couple of days ago and my hair is the same color they dyed it. My Dr. Told me they don't advise coloring hair while being pregnant but I asked the girl at the salon and she told me her Dr. Never told her anything so it was ok and she also told me that she dyed her hair throughout her pregnancy and both her and her baby are totally fine.....I won't dye my hair again while being pregnant I only dyed it because my hair was light blond w/ dark roots coming in really bad. My natural hair color is dark blond...But I didn't want to have mad roots.

is that true? Maybe that's why my color didn't hold.... I colored it a week or two ago (blonde from a brownish color) and now it's back to what it was before almost.... It's disappointing, I wanted to be blonde again for the summer, but the color didn't stay...
