Hello everybody,

i am planning to make a short film in which the two main characters, wife and husband, are faced with the problem of the woman being pregnant after she was raped. At the moment the script is still in its fledgling stages, and to give the characters proper dimension and realism I am currently doing some research on the topic. If there is anyone out there who would be willing to share their experiences, and the emotional aspects that were involved, I would be very grateful. Be assured that all information will be dealt with sensitively, I do not want to "sensationalize" anything.

Please don't post opinions on whether or not abortion is right or wrong in such a situation. I am personally pro-choice, and in my movie the woman ends up keeping the baby after all, because it is the right choice for the character. Being female myself I can imagine some of the things that might go through a woman's mind, but since I have never been faced with this situation I am sure there are lots of rational and irrational thoughts and feelings that I cannot imagine on a theoretical "what if" level.

Any input from men who have had to deal with their wives, girlfriends being pregnant after a rape would also be greatly appreciated.

If you don't want your experiences visible in the forum, you can also e-mail me.

Thank you in advance for any replies!
