Q: Bleeding Ulcer - Had 3 Blood Transfusions!!!

Hi

i'm new to this board and I have some questions. On tuesday, nov. 23 I began throwing up blood. Of course, this scared the crap out of me and my parents rushed me to the er. I threw up 3 times. Twice at home and once in the er.

Anyway, 2 and 1/2 years ago I had the gastric bypass. So, I thought that I had busted my staples or something - but I didn't. Anyway, I was admitted to the hospital that evening and didn't get out until this afternoon (saturday nov. 27). Anyway, while I was in there I had to have 3 blood transfusions. At one point I was so low on blood that I fainted in my hospital room.

I guess my question is, has anyone else experienced this? I'm scared to death still. They think the ulcer was brought on my excessive worrying - which is something i've done all my life. I don't know how to control that. Sometimes I eat too much an throw up - because of my small stomach.

Can anyone out there offer any advice? Will my ulcer start bleeding again? I'm eating soft foods now, and probably will continue to eat soft foods until the Dr. Says it's ok. I go back into the hospital on tuesday for another blood test. Hopefully it will go up and i"ll be ok.

Thanks!

help for stress relief
I highly recommend this as I was suffering from panic attacks resulting from the death of my brother who was just one year older than me. I began having shaking spells and went to the ER 3 times thinking I was having a heart attack, before one doctor mentioned that this could be brought on by panic attacks and he named several other things, but that one stuck with me. I was freaking every night. Now I have no problems sleeping at night and my brother's death no longer haunts me.
