Me and my husband got a couple goldfish and I named one bubbles because his eyes blew out sometimes... I thought he was cool... Well the other day I was telling my husband that we don't need another algea eater... We have a small one... I also heard if you get a big one that they may chase your small fish and attach itself to them and suck on the fishes slimmy bodies... Well my husband didn't listen to me and brought home a big algea eater... He was fine in there for a day or two.. Till this morning when I found bubbles lifeless body floating on top... All his insides are sucked out!!!! Ewwww.... My fishy is dead... Now I am def. Geting rid of the big algea eater... Does anyone have gold fish and algea eaters?? I was wondering if anyone else had this done to thier fish???

We just got a couple of goldfish yesterday and I don't know if theres an algae eater in there..I haven't paid much attention to them.. We are going to bring in this big fishtank and put some in there.. I'm kind of disappointed becuase we have no room and it's not a very practical thing to do.. We don't need anymore animals or whatever, we have our hands full with 2 dogs 3 cats, and a bird.. We don't need fish, besides.. I don't believe in keeping fish for pets anyway becuase they are locked up in such a small area (compared to the ocean or bay) and they must be so bored and lonely.

I have a beta named kenai (if any of u have ever seen brother bear, he's named after the main character) Smile

he's really pretty (purple, pink, and blue), but apparently u can't have other fish with betas...Cuz they'll fight each other and then get stressed out and die. It must be lonely for him..But sometimes he creeps me out. Lol he just stays there staring at me while i'm typing at my computer sometimes... He's doing it right now actually. Lol

i'm surprised he's lived this long actually...I've had him for almost 5 months and he's still going strong! Smile I was told he might not live more than a month or two if I was lucky. Go kenai! Lol

Ohh do I have a story about betas! When I was going to college there were 5 guys that lived next to door to us. They bought 2 betas and made them fight, one lived. The next month they bought another one, and they fought and one lived. They did this for 7 months straight! They would have a big party and get all wasted one day a month and do this stupid horrible ritual with the betas. The second one they bought was undefeted. How sad is that!

Haha oh I know about travelling with a fish.... When my parent's drove me and my sister back up to school in sept. Kenai was there with me in the back. Lol the whole 10 hours in a little container. I was afraid he would get stressed out and die... I wonder how he's gonna handle the plane...

forever the pessimist. Fish have to be the easiest things in the world to take care of. And I don't believe they're sad or bored seeing how their memory span is only about 30 seconds. Betas actually thrive more in small environments.
