My father had dermatomyositis and died )many years ago) from complication whereby the disease restricted his lung function. Another one of our family members (his niece) has been diagnosed with Scleroderma. The symptoms are similar. Does anyone know if these two are in anyway related?
Also, are any hereditary?
As a daughter I've always wondered if I would have to worry dermatomyositis because when he died back in the 70s it was termed as "Rare" I think it still might be, not sure.
