Q: Weird Flap of Flesh Inside; Don't Know What It Is

I feel a little embarrassed admitting this, but my boyfriend is actually the one who found this little oddity.

He noticed that on the inside of my vagina, very close to the opening on the "roof", there is a rough and rather lumpy surface, and within that surface, there is a small piece of rigid flesh, no larger than the nail on my index finger. He moved it back and forth, but it sort of felt tender.

With clean hands, I decided to check this thing out for myself; this thing, whatever it may be, felt almost like cartialage. I tried to locate any openings it could have led to, but found nothing.

...............

Now i'm not much for self-exploration, so I have no idea if this bizarre little sliver of flesh is normal or not. I think it may be causing me slight pain on physical contact.

Anyone know if this is normal? If so, what is it? And if not, what could it be?

I'd really appreciate any and all help ^-^

To answer your question, kitty2luv...Yes it does hurt only when I touch it.

..........

When in the shower I decided to check and see if it was still there...The flap seemed to be gone, but I noticed something else. Within that lumpy surface, which I know is normal, there is a perfectly smooth spot that feels like it is in an oval shape; the underside of my index finger can fit almost perfectly in this oval.

When I apply even a little bit of pressure to this smooth spot, it hurts like crazy, and it throbs for about ten minutes after contact. Once again, I have not located any openings in or near this particular area.

............

Thanks for your help, kitty2luv...I still seek answers, though. It doesn not interfere with daily living, but I just wonder why this smooth spot appeared out of nowhere.
