This is for anyone 18 and up. Upon turning 18, have you ever felt that you could not wait to test out your new adulthood? I want so bad to be independent and take care of myself and when I was little I thought adulthood was scary and I was even afraid of highschool and I considered highschool students adult but now that I am graduated.. I look back and they all seem like babies (age wise.. No offense) and I am doing things now that when I was little,, I thought I would be too stupid to do. I just want to test my skills as an individual woman and a homemaker. I just feel like I matured so much in the past 3 years..

Anyway.. Anyone else ever feel ready to take on the world as soon as they reached adulthood?

Yeah, I agree with you on that! I was the same way as you were and now looking back at the age of 23 I think the highschoolers are like babies! It's kinda wierd!

I'm kind of like kia - drinking and smoking at 13, ended up in a group home/detention centre at 13. Had my own appartment at 16 and by the time I was 18 I felt like I was 40 years old. In montreal you only have to be 18 to go to bars, vote anything it's not like in the states where u have to be 21. And by 18 I had done all that. Just wait till you hit 25!

Bd-all throughout highschool, I wanted to move out on my own when I was 15. I lived with strict catholic parents, so my first time to get out was when I moved 2 hours away from home to go to college, and that was a trip! I got in lotsa trouble, drank too much, got in trouble with the law. But that phase is over. I wanted to grow up real fast as well. I started to see myself doing things thta I thought I would never be able to do as well! Like pay bills, use a credit card, everything! I know what you mean. I am very independent. I have always wanted my own of everything, such as a place to live, car, everything. This has caused tension with my parents because even to this day, they want to help me, especially now that im pregnant. They want me to stay home because they think its best. But, you are an adult now. Make sure the decisions you make are the best for you. You seem like a smart girl, and one day you will be a fullblown adult and wish you were a kid again!

I didnt do much drinking that young. It all started when I was about 16, and even then it was controlable. Then I went to college, and that was bad. I got 3 mips (minor in possesion) and am still dealing with the consequences today. I dont have a real license, it was suspended and now its restricted, but get this, I get it back the day im supposed to give birth! Yay...I can drive home from the hospital legally...How sweet....
