Should I Be Alarmed
Posted: 11-24-04 09:48am

I woke up in the middle of the night and my hips and my pelvic bone were killing me. I mean I have pains every now and then but I was laying on my side and I could hardly move over to my back. It took a couple of mins for them to settle down and then I had trouble moving back to my side after about 10 mins I was able to get up and everything was fine. I never had that with my previous pregnancy I had stretch pains but these were deffinatly not stretch pains nor we're they cramps. I also feel like sometimes I have lots of pressure. I'm 15 weeks pregnant and if felt like I did when I was 30 weeks. I don't have that all the time. But I was really worried about last night. I was just wondering if its really that normal I told my husband and he didnt think it was. I have a Dr. Appointment next wednesday but if I should I could probably get in today or tomororw specially with being pregnant.
So does anybody know if this is normal or had this happen before? Should I be really concerned.

Thanks
steph

It sounds pretty normal. Your hips and pelvis joints are very flexible so if the get pushed the wrong way it could be painful and disabling. I myself have had something similiar so you are not alone. I would still go to the doc though just in case. Hope that eased your mind a little! :d let us know!

i agree with newmommy you do need to let you doctor know everything even if it is something you may think is small. Also when that happens try to drink some water. I was told that it could also happen when you are dehyderated. Good luck hun and I hope that you feel better

It's probably just your body loosening up for the baby. It is a little early. My second pregnancy was much harder. I had mine close, so my body was still recovering a little from the first. I had a lot more pain in my pelvic area and hips. Similar to what happened to you. I can't remember when it started, but I know it didn't go away until about a month after I had my baby. You're probably fine, but go with your instincts. If you feel like you need to go to the doctor earlier, go.

Thanks for putting my mind to ease girls. I was getting worried for a bit. So do you think I should wait till next wednesday or see if I can get in sooner. I'd like to think I drink enough water. I have been so thirsty in the last two weeks its not even funny. But my friend was told she was dehydrated once and she was drinking 4 times more then she usually did. If i'm always thirsty I guess it could be dehydration. I hope thats it. I can't imagine drinking anymore water but I don't want to feel like that again. I was up for 3 hours after that. I think i'll call to see if I can move my appointment up to today or tomorrow.

Hopefully it doesnt last my whole pregnancy. That would suck. My last pregnancy already feels like it was so much easier.

Thanks girls

I think you will be fine to wait. Now if the pain is so bad that you cant bare it you can also call your doc. Office anythime of the day. If they feel that something is really wrong they will tell you to come in.

I totally understand. I was almost crying last night I was in so much pain and i'm only 9 weeks along. I thought I was breaking, so it seems to be a normal thing-phew.
