At 14 weeks they gave me a 60% chance of having a boy..And at 21 weeks they gave me a 90% chance... So anytime between there. The longer you wait though the higher the %!

Usually they give you an ultrasound around 20 weeks.

I think they can only tell at 12 weeks if you have an afp test done.. I think the earlier by ultrasound is 16 weeks, at the very earliest. I found out at 20 weeks with my daughter, and I had an ultrasound at the beginning of this month at 22 weeks but we couldn't tell cause it wouldn't uncross its legs

The gender of the baby is not decided until 13 weeks.

Oh sorry, I was just saying that that is when the gender is decided. With my son the doctor did my ultrasound at 28 weeks. But I am sure they can find out sooner than that. Sorry.

It's not even a shot ka, they take genetic material from the baby. It's like getting blood drawn, but out of your baby. I'd puke. There's no way I could handle it. They'd have to knock me out first.

They don't take anything from the baby, they withdraw amnio fluid. And I don't think the risk are as high as 75%.. I remember when mom had to have one done when she had my brother cause she was over 35.
I wouldn't be able to do it anyways though cause I hate needles and there really isn't much of a reason for me to have one done
