Q: Gallbladder Symptoms

I had my gallbladder (along with several large stones) removed 5-11-04. I've recently been having some symptoms that are causing pain in my chest..And still experiencing symptoms as when I had my gallbladder (of which I referred to them as ghost symptoms). I went to a new family practice doctor and another abdominal ultrasound was done. When I went in for a f/u appt she states that the ultrasound report refers to a contracted galbladder and gallstones. I'm assuming my gallbladder was removed 6 months ago...Would anyone have any suggestions as to why my recent ultrasound would show this? Cysts? Left-over sponge from the first surgery? Ha ha

I would suggest going to another doctor for a second opinion. If your gullbladder has been removed totally than it is impossible for your doctor to see it on the ultrasound. It must be something else.

Or your gullbladder has not been removed, only the stones in it, in which case it is possible for you to have developed others.

Get a second opinion.

Good luck!
