to my question.
Well the question is, why would it be
kinda painful during sex?
For you or for the guy?
It could be painful for you just because
the hormones might make your cervix a
little sensitive- like happens to many
women at certain times during their cycle.
Thus, every time he hits your cervix, you
feel pain.
Or it could make you have less
lubrication, hence some irritation.
Or the strings could be poking your man,
which shouldn't hurt him, but some people
have reported that it is uncomfortable
(leaving the strings longer might help
with this, then they can tuck in around
your cervix instead of poking out.)

before ovulation. i would like to track
my ovulation as soon as it is removed to
concieve as soon as possible. if anyone
knows the answer please let me
know
My doctor has always told me that you
should get your period within a month of
taking it out (depending on when your
cycle ends). He said you can get pregnant
right away.

You can get pregnant right away, but if
you're trying to track ovulation
correclty, you might want to wait out the
first month because it might not give
really accurate or normal results.

well, here's an update. i got my Mirena
taken out in June. i asked to be put back
on the pill so they put me on
OrthoTriCyclen. They took the Mirena out
on a Thursday and i started my first pill
pack on the following Sunday. I had issues
previously with the pill making me
nauseated. It was to the point that even
the thought of putting the pill in my
mouth made me feel sick (due to that i
didn't take my pills like i should have,
which is how i got pregnant with my son,
which is why my doc recommended Mirena and
i got it in the first place).
about a week to a week and a half after i
started my pills, i had some spotting for
a few days and then it stopped. the pills
made me feel nauseous just like they did
before but i forced myself to take them
every morning thinking i'd get used to
them or something. i got to the end of the
pack but no period came. i didn't start my
new pack so i have been off the pill for
about 2 weeks. still no period!
in the month that i was on the pill i
gained about 10 lbs. i have decided to not
take anymore and see if i get a period and
if i can get my weight down. i'll see how
it goes and update again later on.

update on merina iud Posted: 07-26-08 23:44pm
I had my IUD removed on june 18th and the
very next day I had a full period for 7
days. I went back in on June 30th for a
full physical and blood work to see if I
was healthy enough to conceive a child.
Everything went well. I started
immediately tracking my ovulation and I
ended up having another period only 22
days later on July 9. It lasted 6 days.
Still tracking my ovulation my husband and
I have tried to conceive. I believe I
maybe pregnant now. I have all the signs
of a pregnancy but I have at least another
week till I find out if I am. I will let
everyone know if it is a positive or not.
I hope this will help anyone who wants to
know if it is possible to conceive
immediately upon removing or if you will
get a cycle quickly or not. thank you for
listening

If nausea is your only problem, that can
sometimes be solved by taking the pill at
a different time of day- if you take it in
the morning now, try taking it with
dinner, or before bed.
But that doesn't sound like the only
problem you've had with it.

I had NO problems with Merina Posted: 08-18-08 18:40pm
I had Merina put in back in 2005 3 months
after the birth of my daughter..... The
procedure took no longer then 15 minutes
and I was out the door. For me it was not
painful at all just a little pinch when
the was checking my
cervix. After about 2 months I had no
period and for those two months my period
was lighter and shorter. Now I am one of
those to whom Merina came out on its own
with no reason that any can find. It came
out in March of 2007. I have been tested
for a number of different things to see
why it came out and nothing has been found
as to why..... I did not have any abnormal
weight gain as some woman have said but I
was in the army at the time too... I
gained weight because of the working out
every day. After I got out of the army I
found myself actually loosing weight. I am
one of those whom suffered from acne
before Merina and after my face was very
much clearer then before and I did nothing
different with that so Thanks Merina for
that one lol . As far as
the bleeding after it is out I had no
problem with heavier bleeding or anything
like that my periods came back normal. I
am going tomorrow to get it put back
in.... I am sick of having a period... and
my acne is back now so....
This works differently for every
woman..... Not everyones body is the same.
If you have sever complications from any
birth control you might want to see if
your body can handle estrogen... Some
woman can not handle larger "doses" of
Estrogen.
I do have one question though lol
How long after it gets put in do you have
to way to have intercourse? Before when I
had it I was not active with anyone so I
didnt really care but now I am in an
"active" relationship might be something
to know lol

I have merina Posted: 08-30-08 18:52pm
I have had merina for well over a year
now. I am recently showing alot of
pregnancy symptoms. The more i think im
pregnant the more research i do and find
out the pregnancy on merina is more common
than anyone else thinks. I have a 17 month
old little girl and to have another baby
right now would be a bad idea... as i am
just starting college. Just when i thought
it was safe to use merina only, think
again because i think im pregnant i took
one test a week ago but it was only a week
into the possible pregnancy and i show
signs RIGHT away. Just be weiry that you
CAN get pregnant if it moves!

When I was on Mirena I swore up and down I
was pregnant but the doctor insisted I
wasn't and tests revealed I was not. What
my doc said happens is over time the
hormones in Mirena decrease and even
though they are still effective they can
cause odd changes such as tender breasts,
nausea, cramping, etc.

Now into my 4th year Posted: 09-30-08 16:07pm
I have had the mirena for 4 years next
month. I had it put in place due to heavy
bleeding, 3 weeks out of every 4. It was
painless to have inserted and I had slight
discomfort for a couple of months while is
settled down. It changed my life.
However over the last 18 months I have
experienced discharge 3 weeks out of 4,
discomfort and back pain, sore breasts,
mood swings, my libido doesn't exist
anymore, general unwellness and weight
gain. I had a large polyp removed 3
months ago and I can no longer feel the
string. A scan revealed the mirena was
still in place.
I am now waiting for an appointment to see
my gyno to have the mirena removed as I
believe this is what is causing me so much
discomfort.
Having said all that, it did change my
life for a while and I was grateful.
