For the last 3-4 months I have had horrible nausea mostly at night time and now ive started to get awful pains in my stomach. I can barely eat anything anymore and when I get the pains in my stomach I cant lay down without feeling like im going to explode or vomit. Ive done many tests and ive tried nexium, tagament, and lots of those kinds of medicines and nothing is helping. Please if anyone else has any symptoms like me, id love to know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you..

I've had nausea for months now, and nothing seems to help it, i've learned to live with it seeing as how I don't have medical insurance. It used to be real bad, so i'd eat to see if that was it (although it wasn't a hungry tummy ache) and eating made it worse. Maybe i'll never know what it is. :?

P.S. Do you smoke?

Well I do smoke every now and then but its usually just when I am upset or having anxiety problems. I also have emetophobia, or a fear of vomiting I am trying to seek therapy for. I think the nausea wouldnt really bother me if I was so scared of throwing up. Are you or anyone you know scared of vomiting too? I hope your stomach problems go away or you find out what is wrong! Thanx

Hi nikki,
i have a fear of vomiting too. And I am convinced that I feel more nausious the more I think about it. My feeling is anxiety. There is nothing wrong with me but this extreme fear of vomiting!!! It used to be so bad that I would be scared of eating incase I get food poision or I would leave the house incase someone breathed on me and I got a bug!!!!! I have had this ever since I was 9 (im now 28) I got over it for many years and the sick feeling diddisappearr as I started to think of other things (things that were way more important than "just say I vomit!!"). Something I can suggest is whenever you think "oh my god,imm going to vomit" try really hard to occupy your mind and you should start to calm down. Think of it this way....When you go on a roller coaster your stomach is sloshed everywhere giving you a nausious feeling. It's the same when you have anxiety or a fear of something (in our case vomiting) you have such a high level of adrenaline and when you analysie it or think more about it you add to the adrenaline and it makes u feel worse.

I had the same symptoms for a long time, and it turned out to be a hiatal hernia. What happened is that a few inches of my stomach managed to slip up into my chest cavity, so every time I would lie down, I would just start throwing up uncontrollably. A simple endoscopy revealed what it was and I was able to get an easy surgery to fix it. I only spent three days in the hospital and one week off of college and I was pretty much back to normal. The only bad thing is that I can't drink soda anymore, nor can I burp or throw up so I have to keep prescription anti-nausea pills in my purse just in case. I would definitely ask your doctor to refer you to a gastroenterologist.
