You need to go see another doctor. In particular an ear, nose and throat specialist. I had infected tonsils for four straight months that did not respond to antibiotics and so they decided the best thing to do would be to have them removed. I had the surgery in april and I have yet to get sick again. The surgery is not fun at all but it is so worth it not to be constantly sick. Go get a second opinion from another doctor. And if you still aren't satisfied get a third. I know what it feels like to be sick over and over again and not get any relief. Hope you start feeling better soon!

I agree with floridagirl. Go get another opinion. My 8 year old daughter had what they call "kissing tonsils" which led to chronic tonsilitis. This was a 24-7 thing. Poor kid had a sore throat constantly. All they wanted to do was pump her full of antibiotics. Never did any good. Finally I asked to have them removed and they did. She did just fine. It was an outpatient thing. Took maybe 20 minutes for tonsils and adenoids to be removed. And, like floridagirl said, it wasnt pleasant, but she hasnt been sick since and this has been over a year ago. Well worth the day or two of recovery. Good luck.
