Hi,
i have achalasia and was wondering if anyone out there has it?
I would like to know wether you are experiencing back pains with it?
What treatment did u have (i'm awaiting treatment)?
Did it work?
How have you found coping with the condition?
I find it very difficult to eat when in public, it makes me quite upset.
Anyone else drink loads of water to help it?

Any advise would be great, or if anyone wants advice I will try my best to help.

Cool yes, I have this. My advise is to be conservative, try to avoid surgery at all cost. (last resort.)

i will ask my physician to balloon dilate @25mm rather than 30mm to reduce risk of hemorrage and susubsequent surgery. The balloon dilation @20mm for endoscopy and diagnosis gave some much needed relief.

Although the panic this disorder creates is powerful, don't let it cause you to choose dramatic high risk interventions. Try to work gently with what you have left. Change the diet to not allow any food to rest in the esophagus good luck my friend,
