Q: Weird Things With Uvula

After waking up this morning I had a sore throat but I didn't really think much of it, but after getting up I felt my uvula felt awkward, like I felt the uvula on my tounge, and know its to the point where its going down my throat and I feel like I can swallow it. When I breathe out it bascially flops onto the back of my tounge, but then when I swallow it starts hanging down my throat again, and its just a horrible feeling knowing that. Plus im kind of scared to sleep thinking I could choke on it or somnething.

I tried eating a few ice pops, and gargling hot salt water but none really made it feel better, what is this? What should I do about it?

I would give it a few days.. My boyfriend had that same thing about two weeks ago. His uvula was swollen for 2 days and finally came down after 3-4 days. We never figured out what caused it.. It went down on it's own. Just keep an eye on it. Unless it's very sore, I would give it some time.

Rushed my husband to ER this am as the inflammation of his uvula obstructed his airway causin moderate respiratory distress accompanied with sore throat n jaw, n slight ear ache. Dr gave his antihistamine. Inflammation subsided to a point but still there. He is to take antihistamine at home like Benadryl which u can get at ur local drug store.....try that. Hope it helps!!!!
