Has anyone had "genital warts" if so, I need all the 411 I can get...Help!!! I just go diagnosed with it...Whats the chance of my hubby getting them, I know he has the virus (obviously if I do) but will he get warts, so we can't have sex until they're all gone??? Oh, and to top it all of i'm 7 months pregnant.....Please advise.

Ive never had any std or genital wart problem, but I can tell you that they are highly contagious...Im guessing since you have a hubby you dont use a condom...More than likely your husband will contract the virus and get the warts also....I would go get him tested for them so he can treat them before they even arrive! Best of luck with ur problem and ur pregnancy! Keep me updated!

If I were u,i'd see a doctor again or go 2 an sti clinic 2 get this cleared up b4 baba comes cos if u deliver, u dont want ur baba 2 get the infection too.Like crombie sed, they r highly contagious so u need 2 make sure condoms r used for a while now even after uve had them treated just to make sure they dont come back.
P.S. This is gonna sound real dumb but I thort pregnant women couldnt have sexafter the 3rd month!

Hey liz,
actually, you can have sex all the way up to delivery....Intercourse actually helps you go into labor when ur in ur last weeks, so many woman use that to help move things along.

Genital Warts
Hey,
ya, you should talk to your doctor, he/she can refer you to a counselor who could explain it all a little better.

Not to scare you, but my cousin had genital warts and they never fully went away. They always came back. That may have something to do with whether or not her boyfriend got tested and taken care of the situation on his end. Not to pry, but do you know who you got them from? I mean, if it was from another partner of either your husband or yourself, than they should also be tested. Take all meds. Appropriately. You wouldn't want your little one to get it.
Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? Besides this issue, how has it been so far? Is this your first? Good luck and god bless,
marissa

My sister has genital warts...When she had her daughter she had a c-section...She found out a few years later that if she had've given birth vagionally then her daughter could have gotten them too. Please think about this. Confused

Hi guys,

i have a 2 year old daughter and I found out that I had hpv wen I was about 2 mths preg. The docs in all the reaserchi ahve done over the years on this all reckon that a c section is not necessary because a mother has hpv, as the risk of the baby getting the prob during delivery are quite slim and very rare. I had a natural delivery with my daughter and she doesnt have the prob. They say there is not enoughf of a risk for them to do a c section.. I sooo wanted a c section because there stilll was a chance even though very slight that she could get this horrid prob.

Through out the duration of my preg the doc had to freeze off all the warts on the inside, cause there is a greater risk of the baby getting the prob if there are warts present. The warts virus is still contagiose even when there are no visible warts as alot of ppl have hpv but dont get the warts, there fore it usually goes unoticed by alot of those ppl.

Best of luck with your preg... Don't worry your self sick about giving this prob to your baby during delivery as it is rare..

Genital(veneral)warts
Hey

hey someone said it is extremly contagious... Not true.. They r only contagious when they r in the physical stage.. Which is when u can see the warts on ur genitals.. Your husband can get visible warts... Pregnancy also makes them alot more noticeable I have them.. And they have gotten worse because of my pregnancy.. There is no problem to having them.. They can be treated before your baby is born,, or after.. Most doctors recommend waitin until after you have your child to get them treated most believe they will clear up on their own.. Some doctors may want to deliever by csection because they can add to the bleeding and the fact that they can be carried onto the baby... They do not cause seriuos complications.. And its not 100% that your child will get themm I gave an appointment with a doctor who can treat them on monday so I will let you know when I learn more

Genital Warts Aka Human Papillomavirus
Genital warts is also known as the human papillomavirus or hpv, which can be detected in women through a pap smear. It is the most common std! Contrary to what another user said, hpv is contagious even when in a latent or inactive state (i.E., even if no external warts are visible). Other than the potential for unsightly warts that may not be dangerous in and of themselves, the main concern a woman has is for the possibility hpv has to lead to cervical cancer. For this reason, it is important that you get your pap smear performed in regular intervals, at least yearly, every six months if you have been diagnosed with hpv.
