I know there is one over the counter med you can take safely and I think it just might be tylenol, is there anyway you can contact your doctor to be sure?

Yea....I took tylenol pm the other day, and after I took it (bad move!) I asked my mom if it was ok and she said yes, she asked the doc that I go to (obgyn) so you can take it!

Yeh I was thinking its probably ok, cause I know its ok to take tylenol. I'm thinking of calling my obgyn on monday anyways just to double check. Thanks you guys

It is ok, tylenol pm has the same ingredient as benedryl, and that and tylenol are ok, so instead of taking both take tpm.. But I don;t sleep very well with that or benedryl, I will sleep hard for an hr and then wake up a lot and sleep hard in between all the wakings, and then in the morning I feel like crap

Tylenol pm contains diphenhydramine, and acetaminophen.

Well I was talking to my doctor about my headaches and he told me to take tylenol if I wanted. I haven't though. Dont wanna risk anything.

Regular tylenol is perfectly okay! It only contains acetaminophen! Its the pm you wanna avoid!

You can take extra strength tylenol without a problem!

I talked to my doctor about sleep trouble and he told me to take benadryl.

I am a ca licensed pharmacy tech but I just got it then we moved around a but and so I absolutely do not know or remeber everything, just certain things.

We don't get tylenol in uk is it a brand name.
I know we have like paracetamol, ibuprofen, nurofen, cocodamol and stuff but not tylenol

don't take motrin(ibuprofen) or aspirin,,aspirin thins out your blood,and motrin, dang, I forgot what it does, something to your stomach, sorry...And don;t knwo the other one

No aspirin is bad and can lead to reyes syndrome if taken by under 21's. I was always and still am scared by aspirin.
I hate taking pills if not needed (most of the time)

Whereas, benadryl and tylenol pm contain diphenhydramine which has not been proven to be safe during pregnancy. But it hasn't been proven to unsafe either...They can't prove for sure if the effects are from the diphenhydramine.


None-the-less...The less medication you put in your body the healthier baby your likely to have!

I agree- the less medication, the better, but I wouldnt stress over taking tylenol pm, like I said before, I was told it was ok. My mom is the nurse for the ob I go to, and he said no problem.

Since i've been pregnant i've taken regular tylenol once and immodium ad once. I'm paranoid about pills, but I still drink coffee (provided I drink much less coffee than I used to). It's funny the things we deny and allow ourselves. My doctor doesn't seem to worried about my lifestyle. Everything's going great so far. Hey, it's past midnight, i'm 32 weeks today.

Now, I dunno if the chemical make up of drugs differs from country to contry (i guess it could as they have their own governing guidelines and stuff) I was assured benadryl was 100% to take during pregnancy

I was told by my dr that tylenol pm is fine, just not to get into a habit of taking it. I took it last night because I have an absessed tooth that prevents me from sleeping, last night if the first i've actually slept in 4 days.
