Me and my husband are trying for a third child and I always take folic acid from over the counter and when you do come out pregnant your doctor prescribes you with prenatal vitamins. Prenatal vitamins pretty much contain all the good stuff inside the pill to make your baby healthy. I am taking folic acid w/800 milligrams & I thank the lord that my kids have come out healthy.
