I was involved in forplay, as I become
more ecxited and was about to have an
orgasim I experienced a painful pounding
in my head, it lasted for a short while, I
even felt a bit nauseated. What is wrong
with me?Bi remember this happening yrs

I think i've experienced this before.
You may know when you are sexually aroused
blood flows to your genitals and more
quickly through the rest of your body
(including your brain). This may be one
reason why you had a sudden pounding
headache, especially if it was just before
orgasm. Naseau often accompanies strong
head aches, naseau doesn't actually
originate in your stomach but usually when
your brain is affected (like in a
concussion)
is it possible you were in a position
where you head was lower than your heart
which increased the blood flow just
because of gravity? Some people say
hanging your head over the bed (or couch
or counter...Where ever you happen to be!)
can make your orgasm even better...
Personally, it just makes my head hurt...

Headache Posted: 11-21-04 00:49am
Dear deborah,
i too have experienced these headaches for
years and I can't believe I have finally
found someone else. Unlike you, I have
them at times other than during sex. The
first time I ever experienced this was
during sex, but the other times seem to be
when I am either working out or singing
really high. I know, it sounds strange.
The first time it happened the pain
lasted about 20 mins with terrible sharp
pounding pain. I could have drawn a line
with a pen on my head exactly where it
hurt. Each time it has happened since I
could do the same. I went to a pain
clinic and they gave me what they called a
nerve block because I had residual pain
for approx a week after the first time.
They gave me a shot in my head right
behind my ear. Whenever I have this
done, it prevents them for about 3 months.
Yes, they hurt like hell and I usually
pass out! I've had three in the last 4
years. I have been to the emergency room
twice and the iv drip is always wonderful.
Since my last trip to the er, my husband
has learned to give me these migraine
shots that come in a pen form. These
seem to help, but I have to go to sleep
after receiving it.
I will probably spell this wrong, but I
have been told that it is my oxcipital
nerve that is creating the problem. It
becomes aggrivated some how, possibly by
cracking my neck all the time or tension.
I feel for you. I have regular
migraines as well and I know that know one
believes you when you tell them that these
are worse. It really puts a huge damper
on your sex life. One thing that I might
mention is to remember to breathe. It
doesn't always work for me, but sometimes
it does. And just when I thought I made
to the climax without the
headache...Bam!
I hope that this is of help to you. I
recommend seeing a neurologist just to
make sure. I even had a cat scan the
first time I went to the er. Everything
was fine, but in a way I hoped that they
would find something to justify the pain.
I haven't had a headache in about 6
months. But the sad thing is, I
typically don't worry about me in bed.
It's easier that way and the headaches
make you not care. My husband is great
and we occassionally try, sometimes with
success and other times without. And to
those that "think" they have experienced
one, you would know without a doubt if you
have!
Good luck to you.

I have also experienced this. It happens
to me when I masturbate in the bath after
I have had the water over my head. It does
not happen when the head or body is not
wet. The pain is so crippling and far more
than any headache. Is enough to make me
throw out.

I would see a neurologist. This may be
nothing but a coital headache but the
nausea is what you report that bothers me.
Ask for a MRI to make sure there is not
some vascular anomaly that you are unaware
of. Just a precaution.
