Is the pain only occuring at night? If that's the case, I would think something's getting pinched in your sleep and cutting off blood flow. If it's constant then it's something consistently pinched somewhere. It depends on where the tingling is located. I started getting a pins and needles effect in my pinky and the outside of my hand and, at first, suspected carpal tunnel. But after reading up, I discovered that carpal tunnel doesn't effect your pinky. A visit to the doctor confirmed what I had already read; I have ulnar neuropathy, or tennis elbow. It's when the ulnar nerve gets pinched in your elbow cutting off blood flow to the outside of the hand. My hand swelled for a little while, too. Tingling/numbing sensations are usually the result of a pinched nerve somewhere. See your doctor about it.
