Severe Back Pain... Please Help Posted: 11-18-04 00:41am
I've had back pain since I was a freshman
in high school, approx. 7 years ago. At
one point in time I strained every muscle
in my back. That was 5 years ago. 2
years ago I injured my back (once again,
straining almost every muscle) and I
suffered random back spasms that left me
incapable of even moving. I've been to
several chiropractors. None of which
help. I have knots running along both
sides of my spine from the base of my neck
to the base of my back. At the moment I
have a knot under my right shoulder blade
that has been bothering me for the past 24
hours or so. And I have migraines. Not
constantly or even consistantly. But
when I get them, I get sick and am unable
to do anything. Breathing becomes a
massive chore. But at the moment
breathing is a chore anyway, do to the
fact that everytime I breathe, the knot
under my shoulder blade screams at me in
agony. I hate to sound overly dramatic.
But as most of you know, this really
hurts. I have tried ice, heat, back
excercises, pretty much the whole nine
yards. I have no insurance, and
therefore can not go to have mri's or any
of that done. If anyone has any possible
suggestions I would be more than a little
happy to hear them.
Thank you.

Not sure if this will help it would be
more for sleeping I think but I was told
about if for severe muscle spasms its a
herbal type thing call valerian root and
its an over the counter thing found on the
same isle as vitiams you might try it
other than that alls I could think of is
muscle rub which i'm sure you tried.

Please Go to This Site Posted: 11-21-04 14:13pm
Please visit www.Mattfurey.Com.
On this site you will find the exercise
program "combat conditioning". This
system contains exercises using nothing
but your own bodyweight and has two
particular exercises which may help you
and I doubt you have previously seen. I
will attempt to explain them here but best
to visit the site and order the book!!!
The first exercise is 'wall walking'.
First stand against a wall, with your
heels touching it, now take 3 steps heel
to toe until you are approx. 3 feet from
it. Now you want to let your head fall
back and try to walk down the wall
backwards withyour hands until you reach
the floor. This movement may sound
extreme/impossible but it is an extremely
great healer of back pain. You may want
to start with standing back bends before
trying to walk the wall!!! The next
exercise is called bridging. Thsi
movement involves supporting your entire
bodyweight on only your feet and forehead,
stomach facing up. Please please please
visit the site and read the many
testimonials from people with similar and
in many cases worse problems than yours
who have been helped by this system,
myself included....Please act on this
post....The doctors will not help you!!!

I am 54 years old and have degenerative
disease. I went to one surgeon and he
told me I was a good candidate for the new
artificial disc in l 3,4,& 5. He
didn't explain about the mris I took into
him that I had done previous. So I went
to another for a second opinion and he
explained the tech words for the mri. I
have a bulging disc between 3 and 4.
Between 2 and 3 the disc has colasped and
the same with between 4 and 5. He doesn't
do the discs and wanted to do a infusion
and I asked what that intales and he told
me so I thought to myself, after I asked
him if I would have flexibility and he
said no, that I wasn't going that route.
He did refer me to another surgeon through
harborview medical clinic in seattle. So
now I have to wait until monday to make a
appointment. I have had this disease for
years but when I fell last july and ended
up with a compound fracture the pain has
gotten worse and the disease has taken
over the vertebrae so it won't heal. I do
understand everyone who has written into
this forum with their problems. My
prayers and thoughts are with you.
