Q: Chronic Pancreatitis

I have a nefew who has chronic pancreatitis. He has had bouts on and off for 8 years. He is now 24. Recently someone told him that his life expectancy is between 30 and 48 years old. I could use some help in locating information about prognosis and medical trial studies.
