My mother claims to be allergic to canibus but she doesn't smoke marijuana, is there any information on the internet that can provide information on this topic?

Does she think she's allergic to the plant or when other people smoke it? I know I get allergy symptoms around people who smoke cigarettes but I am not actually allergic to nicotine or the cigarrett itself.. How does she know she's allergic to it?
