Blistered Lips Due to Accutane??
Posted: 11-15-04 11:42am

I started taking accutane about 6 weeks ago. Within the last 2 days my lips have developed a bunch of little bubbles that resemble blisters. I know that excessively dry lips is a side effect of the med but I wasn't aware of blisters. Does anyone know if this is a side effect? Thanks!

I didn't have blisters but I did have the dry lips.. They could be caused by irritation if your lips are starting to dry out. Have you asked your doctor about getting some ointment for your lips? If not I would get a prescription for some.. It helped keep my lips manageable while on it...

Side Effects

Severe depression to the point of near death is the top side effect for accutane. Blistered lips is number 2. Please see my other posts about never taking accutane ever.

Alot of people use cetaphil along with accutane. Which I swear will make your face and lips even dryer.

Start using chapsticks like never before. Your lips will peel in ways unimaginable.

Depression can be a side effect.. But is not the number one side effect.
