Okay, earlier this morning I took a pregnancy test (around 7am). My boyfriend and I sat in the bathroom and waited on the results for what seemed like an eternity. We didn't time it though. I think it had to atleast have been three minutes...Probably more. The test came out negaitve and we were both very very very happy about that because we don't need any children at this point in our lives. I put the test back in the box and put the box under my bed (so that I could throw it away later without my parents knowing I had taken it). Well, just a few minutes ago (around 10:30pm) I got the box back out to throw it away. I got the test back out, just out of curiosity (really just to look at it I guess... I had never taken a test untill then) and there were two lines!!! It read positive!!! The one line was very dark and the other was fairly light, but still very visible!!! What does this mean?? Am I pregnant?? Did I not wait long enough to get the accurate results? Oh my gosh... I'm so scared and confussed right now!!! Help!!! Was my hcg levels so low that it took a little longer to get the correct result? I don't know what to do or think!!! Has this happened to anyone else??? Help please!!!

Trust me you waited plenty of time, when you are preg it shows really fast
read the package, if you let it set for too long you get a flase positive that's all, don;t worry. If you can't get it out of your mind, take another one

I can explain!
A positive test is viable for upto 48 hours a negative test is only viable for around 10-15 minutes.
What happens is that the dye seeps through to the other line.
If you aren't sure please take another test but the instructions do say read after 3 mins for a reason.
Take care honey.

Okay..I did take another one!!! I took two more actually. This morning I took the first one and it took about 5 min. To show a line (it was very faint but still visible) I still wasn't convinced so I took the 2nd one (which is a little diffrent , but same brand) and it came out positve in like 3 min. Do you guys thinki should take another test (a more expensive one) or just face the facts that i'm pregnant??? My period is due tomorrow!!!

two false positives would be extremely rare, any line no matter how faint is positive, but do what will ease your mind. Make a dr appt and have a blood test would be your best bet
good luck

U should call the dr today and make an appointment to take a test with them. They make u wait like 3 weeks after when ur period is supposed to come to give u a appointment, because they say u can get a false reading. But ur prob definately pregnant dont waste ur money on any more tests...

when I told my doc I took two at home and they were positive, they automatically gave me a blood test, but I guess every dr is different, so like .Shayna said, just ask which one they will give to you

Thanks so much girls!!! This whole thing has really freaked me out!!! Um I have a question, I have a dentist appointment on friday and they may x ray my teeth, will this hurt my baby (if i'm for sure pregnant)? I think that I got pregnant on the 26th of last month but i'm not 100% sure about that. 3 weeks? Wow... That's along time!!! I think that I am though...I mean i'm pretty much convinced by now. Oh, I have period cramps (atleast that's what they feel like). Is this normal during the first weeks of pregnancy? My aunt told me she had cramps with her first born and she took her pt the first day of her missed period and it was positive. I really don't know... Any advice at all you guys can give me will be appreciated!!

I would post pone the dentist until you know for sure
they prefer to do any unavoidable dental work during your 2nd trimester

If you are preg, yes it is, and they will want to wait until you are in your 2nd tri if it is something that has to be done b4 the baby is born

that is why is sais if it something that can;t wait, like if you need root canal if absessed tooth(i have a friend whose mother died from an absessed tooth, the poisin in it went to her brain and killed her...And my mom had one and the poisin got in her blood stream and went to her heart and now she has a lot of problems)

but if it isn;t serious they won;t want to do anything more than a routine cleaning, which you should have while pregnant because the baby can take so much away from you some people lose all of their calcium because they can;t drink milk and won't take their vitamins and their teeth will start to decay and / or possibly fall out
unbelievable
