Mangosteen is a south-east asian fruit that has been proven to relieve if not correct some skin conditions, allergies, nervous system, cardiovascular system, urinary, and digestive problems. I thought this was a very interesting fruit these two websites talk all about it.

Before anyone decides to buy into a "franchise" or decides to go the minimalist way and only buy some of the juice, please do a google search for:

xango research

you will come up with litterally thousands of websites that show the positive affect xango will have for you because those sites are being run by either the makers of the juice or those that are selling it.

Please glance past those and look at the ones that have independant research in the hyperlink area. One is a mayo clinic link

Mayoclinic.Com/health/mangosteen/an01197

i have also posted a couple of other links in another post about this stuff but because this forum has a really odd grammer editor the links do not work unless you change characters from capitals to lower case letter or vice versa. The other links are in a post in the alternative medicine forum.

Please look at these links and many others that speak of the reality of this stuff. It litterally has little to no use for those that use it and you will probably find one link where a guy talks about adult onset diabetes aquired from drinking this stuff for years and being one of the first onboard to sell it. He attribute this diesease to the fact that you are dinking sugar water/juice and harming your body in the hope of "healing"

tamadrummer - I invite you to do your own research before you talk about what you don't know about. Go to http://www.Pubmed.Org and type in two different searches. First type in the word mangosteen, then another search for xanthones. You will find a plethora of "independent" research published about this "sugar water" as you call it. And in fact, something one can do with a bottle of xango to see if it is legit or just a mere "placeebo" is to give it to an animal, such as a dog, who is suffering from arthritis. I have done this myself with my mother-in-laws dog that has severe arthritis in her hips and have personally witnessed within a very short time (a couple of days) a once nearly immobile animal that begin to run again. The dog doesn't lie. Go to this website, and do your own research. You will find out that the mangosteen fruit is the only natural cox-2 inhibitor that we know of. You will also see a study in-vitro that reslulted in on of the mangosteen's xanthones shown to be just as effective as 4 out of five of the current chemo drugs on the market. This was also carried out in a study on luekemia cells. I've read many of your posts that put down natural cures as oppsed to drugs, but I urge you not to be so naive as to think that god did not give us what we need in nature to heal our bodies.

I did research and the research I found showed that it is nothing more than sugar water with a little of the bitter/nasty juice of the mangosteem. You go ahead and drink it up. I will use my money for proven medical help.

Mangosteen is a tropical fruit native to southeast asia that has been used in folk medicine there for many years. Despite the name, this fruit is not related to the mango. The mangosteen is touted for its antioxidants, especially xanthones. Like many other plants, extracts of mangosteen have shown in lab tests that they can stop the growth of certain bacteria and fungi. However, there are no published clinical trials showing evidence that either the fruit or its juice — marketed under the name xango juice — is an effective treatment for arthritis, cancer or any other disorder in humans.

I will go out on a limb and asume that you are refferring to the last line in this paragraph from the mayo clinic. It is quite obvious that whoever published this is ill informed.
Now here is the research that disproves that last sentence:

the following show the antioxidant effects of the mangosteen:
http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/entrez/query.F cgi?Cmd=retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=ab stract&list_uids=16536578&query_hl =1&itool=pubmed_docsum

the following is a study of six xanthones from the mangosteen showing its effects to inhibit growth of leukemia in a human cell:
http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/entrez/query.F cgi?Cmd=retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=ab stract&list_uids=12932141&query_hl =1&itool=pubmed_docsum

the following study shows the effects of the mangosteen on tuberculosis:
http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/entrez/query.F cgi?Cmd=retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=ab stract&list_uids=12843596&query_hl =1&itool=pubmed_docsum

the following show the anti-histamine effects of the mangosteen:
http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/entrez/query.F cgi?Cmd=retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=ab stract&list_uids=12843596&query_hl =1&itool=pubmed_docsum

the following shows the effects of the mangosteen to kill intracellular bacteria:
http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/entrez/query.F cgi?Cmd=retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=ab stract&list_uids=9347663&query_hl= 1&itool=pubmed_docsum

the following shows the effects of six different xanthones from the mangosteen-in which one completely inhibited growth of cancer in 14 different human cancer cell lines:
http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/entrez/query.F cgi?Cmd=retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=ab stract&list_uids=12451486&query_hl =1&itool=pubmed_docsum

this study was designed to determine the antiproliferative, apoptotic and antioxidative properties of crude methanolic extract (cme) from the pericarp of garcinia mangostana (family guttiferae) using human breast cancer (skbr3) cell line as a model system:
http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/entrez/query.F cgi?Cmd=retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=ab stract&list_uids=14698525&query_hl =1&itool=pubmed_docsum

i am not against doctors and medicine (to some degree). I am against ignorance. These studies speak for themselves. This is not snake oil. And there is without a doubt good reason that xango is setting records in the suppliment industry in growth. People that take it and see results do not and will not stop taking it. And by the way, xango tastes great. Apearently you've never tasted it. But that's ok. It's not for you. Go ahead and take your drugs and destroy your liver. That's just what the pharmaceutical industry wants you to do. Why do you think they do so much advertising? They want you to walk into the doctor's office and ask for their perspective drug by name. That's why they have lobbyists. That's why they pad the pockets of doctors. And to no end that is why we are one of the unhealthiest nations in the world. We lead the world in cancer, heart disease and obesety. We have more doctors and pharmacies per capita than any other nation on the planet. If you can not see the corolation there I am very sorry my friend.

Forgot This One
There are many many more studies on the mangosteen but I forgot this one:

this study shows the mangosteen to be an inhibitor of both cox-1 and cox-2. There's your study for arthritis. Arthritis is the result of inflamation. This can be helped with an effective cox-2 inhibitor. There are no safe cox-2 inhibitors currently on the market (except for mangosteen) . By safe I mean they can be taken over a long period of time without harmful side-effects or damage to vital organs

Mangosteen medicinal effects
Mangosteen tea is good for those with Parkinson's disease. There are probably more ailments it can soothe. My uncle has suffered from Parkinson's but is no longer suffering the symptoms as of today and for a while now.
