Could I Be Pregnant?
Posted: 10-16-03 12:46pm

I have been on the pill, but this had never happened to me before...
I took all of my pills on time, and I never missed one. My period lasted about four days (very normal for me). I had sex with my husband during my placebo stage and we did not use a second method of contraception. I thought that the pill prevented the release of an egg from the ovary....
Well, anyways...My husband ejaculated inside of me that night. I sat there wondering whether I could of gotten pregnant that night. And I am still freaking out about it. Rolling Eyes could a girl get pregnant if she has sex during the week of her period (when she is taking her placebo pills)if she is taking the pill? Hhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllppppppppp pp! Shocked

Some Info For You

What many women don't know.....
The birth control pill is supposed to prevent ovulation, but is doesn't always. Sometimes you do ovulate (this is called breakthrough ovulation) and then the second back up system of the pill is to create a hostile environment in your uterus. Another wards one could have a fertilized egg, but then the uterus won't let it implant because the pill created a hostile environment. Sometimes the egg does implant, and this is why some people still get pregnant on the pill. There is really no perfect birth control out there...Except sterlization! Hope the info helped. Eunice
