First of all I will give you a little history about my situation. I'm 28 years old. I have been with my husband for 8 1/2 years. We have a 7 year old son togeither. Before I had my son my libido was great. I wanted sex atleast every other day Wink . After my son was born I went on birth control pills. I didn't want sex anymore Sad . I could go for months with out it. Pretty much when I did do it, it was because I felt guilty because my poor hubby wasn't getting any. My husband has been great. He never pressures me into it. 2 months ago my hubby and I was talking and we decided to go off the pill. We are using the pull out method. We both know that this doesn't always prevent pregnancy but if I do get pregnant we wouldn't mind.

Every since I went off the pill my libido has been very high Shocked . I can have sex 5 or 6 times a day which is great Wink . What my question is, do you really think birth control pills effect your sex drive ? I asked my gyno and she said it doesn't because the pills now days have low hormones in them. I'm not sure I believe her or not. If not then why has my sex drive become extremely high all of the sudden.

Has anyone else that was taking birth control pills did this after being on birth controls pill for so long and then going off them?? I wonder if this will be short lived or will my sex drive stay like this. I love being aroused all the time instead of never Smile .

Thanks for your replys, bridget

I have heard that they can effect your libido. And every person is diff. So maybe it won't affect the majority of people, but that doesn't mean it won't affect u. Diff pills have diff amounts of hormones in them also. Have u tried the new ortho low? That has the lowest dosage these days I think....

Have u tried a diff form of bc-the patch, or shot???

I have tried the patch, and several other pills. I think I like the idea of not taking the pill. I have been on them so long and experienced so many side effects from them. When we have our next child one of us are going to get fixed.

Just thought i'd check. Well, sounds like everything is working out ok now. Congratulate ur hubby for hanging in there when u didn't really want it very often! Sorry, I haven't experience the same thing on the pill too much, just a slight change....
