I found out I have hep c after 20 years of trying to find out why I was always ill. Seems a kidney removal and a kind blood donar unit was when I got the dis-ease in 1984. This of course was before blood was scanned or cleaned for infectuous diseases. I am awaiting treatment- it is a gift that I quit drinking 16 years ago, or someone else would be typing this. I eat as best I can, mayo clinic recommends pedialyte, ensure, and red meat for protein. When I can afford to eat this way I feel better, I also eat 3 tabs of milkthistle 3x a day, plus an assorted vitamin vitamin regimen that we must all be careful about. I am thankful everyday to my god and my family. Most people do not/cannot understand what you go through when you are at supposed later stages...I stay busy, when I get tired I rest, when the pain is unbearable I take meds for it and pray. Most of all I focus on the positive, and when you look back, hep c is just another thing to deal with like taxes. I will not bow to this disease, or the other ones drs. Like to link to hepc. I have much to do, but giving up is not one of them. I pray for all of you too.
