Q: Living Arrangement Help!

Hey guys, to make a long story short: about a year ago, I rented an apartment from a place here in midland and it was a 2-story townhouse. I fell down the stairs and was injured, I was advised by the doctors not to live anywhere where I would have to constantly go up and down because of my back and knee. I explained this all to my landlord, and I gave my 30-day notice, everything. I moved out. Well, then I get a bill in the mail saying I owe them a total of like $700.00...Anyways, I talked to a company named "rentcorp" ( who was trying to collect the money) and told them I was not going to pay that. My question is, now it's time to move again and we're trying to get this extremely nice duplex. We have to get something bigger for the baby. My question is to everyone: do you think that this new place will find out about the last apartment incident if I don't write it down that I lived there? I have no idea how this works. I have rented from 2 other places, and will get good references. I am just afraid they have some system (they all use "taa" applications) that when they type my name in, it's going to say that I owe someone else money. Does anyone have any advice? Please help!!!

I think it will go on your credit. I think that's why they do credit checks on you and you have to get approved. Have you thought about getting a lawyer to help you dispute your incident?

If you move before it's reported in your credit than you might be okay, but I would try and find a way to pay it cause you don't want to screw your credit up.
