Seriously though, maybe she and her friend
need someone to jump down their
throats....If they have to be scared into
using protection....Then thats what needs
to happen.
It seems like every year things just get
so exponentially worse with disease and
unwanted pregnancy, all these precious
little lives are being aborted because
'mommy' didnt think about being
responsible before jumping into bed.
Makes me sick.

Even if you don't have sex ed in school, I
think it's safe to say that most girls can
learn from their peers and/or television
and other forms of media that a girl can
become pregnant from unprotected sex. I
agree that I would start asking questions
or doing research about how to protect
myself against unwanted pregnancies, so I
don't think that is a good excuse not to
use protection. But then again, a lot of
teenage girls are naive, so maybe they
believe that they won't be the ones who
get pregnant from unprotected sex.

it really makes me sick
when you get women who are old enough to
know better that suffer unwanted
pregnancies at the hands of their own
laziness and irresponsibility.

I must say (and it takes a lot for me to
actually scream about my own 'generation')
that a lot of people my age just don't
know anything about birth control. At
all. I'm 17, btw. We had a 'sex ed'
class when I was a freshman but they just
screamed herpes at us and told us not to
do anything. That's not very educational.
Abstinence only education makes me laugh
my ass off. It;s just not going to work
that way. So I find I have to educate all
my friends about the pill and how to use a
condom when they want to start having sex
because they're just too lazy or
embarresed to look it up or ask someone
else. I did hours fo research online when
I started depo and the pill but i've had a
lot of firneds for get to take the pills
three days in a row then come and ask me
'i'm ok, right?' anmd i'll scream 'no!!!'
cause i'm sick of this 'it won't happen to
me' crap. Stop being uptight in this
society and start being realistically
educational!

Abstinance has not ever worked, and will
not ever work.It is completely unrealistic
for parents to think that their kids will
not have sex-or at least try it!!Sexual
urges were created to keep the species
alive and now that people are not getting
married at 14,they are a "problem".Sex
education needs to come from the
parents-not the school!!!It is up to
parents to decide what type of sex ed to
give their children. That does not mean
that they should ignore ot,but give them
the info needed to be safe and healthy.I
laugh when my husband tells me of his big
"sex talk"it happened when he was 18!!!His
mom(who is french)told him"everything from
the waist up is okay-don't go below"so
much for the french having all the sexual
secrets!!It is a wonder he is such a great
lover,with all that great
advice.Parents,please,talk to your kids
and give them the right info, not myths and
street talk!!!Patty

I think parents should just have their
kids sterilized because most of them won't
grow up to be responsible parenting types
anyway.

"the pill may make her sick but there are
other options, like the patch and the
shot, or absitnence, and yes, there are
non-latex condoms."
the patch and the shot are hormonal
methods, just like the pill, and aren't
likely to make much difference if nausea
is the problem. Try non-hormonal
methods, like condoms or a diaphram, if
that's the issue.

The naseuousness that comes from the pill,
although probably from the hormones, can
also be a psychological thing. The
thought of ingesting something and it
releasing things into your body can be
unsettling.
For example, my sister is extremely afraid
of getting shots, and every time she does
she builds up the drama of it so much in
her mind that she passes out. It has
nothing to do with whats in the shot.
All im say is that it might be easier for
her to deal with just sticking a patch on
her body once a week and going on with
life. Its hard to say, but there are
limitless reasons and options available
for everybody when it comes to safer
sex.
