That's nothing!! I saw a show on tv, like one of those reality series things where they pry into people's lives and make fun of them...This couple actually let their, like, eight year old daughter get plastic surgery!!! She had a nose job!! I can't even believe they found a doctor to do it!!!

What is everyones opinion on them? I mean if my child had some blow out personality I guess I would let her but some parents get crazed about it and almost force their child into it, ya know?

I'm not sure that I would want my kid doing that...I mean, even if she really, really wanted to. Most of those girls end up with serious eating disorders later in life, because they grew up in the whole modeling-gotta-be-skinny atmosphere. If I did let her, she wouldn't be getting too involved. A few every now and then, maybe, but not like, entering every pageant and spending millions on dresses and makeup...I just don't think those girls are old enough to be acting that grown-up.

I do pageants and I absolutly love them! People that think kids are forced into them are wrong b/c in a pageant it is very apearent when they don't want to be there!

I saw that show on kid beauty pageants last night...It was horrible. I cant believe these little like 5-10 year old girls with makeup caked on their faces and everything. I want to see statistics on how many of these girls grow up to have all kinds of eating disorders and selfesteem problems...You cant send a kid the message that they have to be perfect and pretty to get money from such and early age and not have negative precussions.

They only develop the eating disorders and stuff when an adult is telling them to lose weight. If I had a daughter and she wanted to I would let her, but I would be there with her making sure she didn't have some adult telling her crap like that. But, no, I wouldn't push her or make her do anything she didn't want to. And I wouldn't trust her to anyone else because you never do know what people try to put into their minds. Makes me mad.
But if I noticed she was getting to obsessed with looks I would make her quit. Life brings enough problems, I wouldn't help her develop more!
