We Want Twins...
Posted: 11-09-04 23:10pm

My other and I want to have more children. We have three blessing to date but would love to have at least two more. Is there any fertility drugs that would boost our chance of conceiving multiples? It isn't a big deal if we don't have twins, but we would really love to try. Any suggestions would be great!!

Unless it runs in your family, there isn't a great chance of twins, unless you undergo some sort of family planning, fertility drugs. If you're over the age of 35 that also increases your risk of multiple births.

Twins or any kind of multiple birth aren't genetically related. Fertility drugs, however, very often produce a multiple birth. I am twenty three weeks with twins, and i'm fifteen - obviously wasn't planned. :)

Twins are genetic but it does not have to be in the family for you to have them. It's just a greater chance if it does run in the family.

Fraternal twins are passed down. Meaning the woman genetically spits out more than one egg at a time. If her mother did, her grandmother did, then she is very likely to have them. Now....Identical twins--are not genetic and they just happen by chance. Can happen to anyone. " I found this infomation was from a discovery documentary about twins."

if on fertility drugs your chances of having more than one egg expell at a time a lot higher--so in that case, it does not have to be from your parent--or grandparent--it would be drug induced.

ok..Well, I had twins..And everything I have read is the mother is responsible for fraternal..Which is what I had..However..The father is responsible for identical...So if you have identical twins..It came from the fathers side...

they said identicals are just chance---not hereditary

and that fraternal can be caused from other things(fertility hormones)---but usually they are hereditary.
