Q: Lump In My Armpit

I am a male aged 25 yrs having a moderate lifestyle, I do not smoke neither do I indulge in drinking. I do practice some light exercise in the morning like pushups and pullup stretch ;since past 2 months I have been observing frequent recurring of painful knots about the size of a pea in my right armpit which tend to last for 3-4 days and then disappear.
I had experienced such knots for the first time about 2 months back , it had then ocuured in both my armpits almost simulataneously, but now since then it has been recurring in my right armpit alone. When it had occured for the first time my general physician explained me that pullups
could have been the underlying cause for this, but according to me I have been practicing pullups since past 9 yrs and never had experienced such a frequent problem. My problem annoys me a lot ,i would highly appreciate if someone who could come forward and help to provide a reasonable answer to my problem.
Thank you.

Armpit Bumps
I have the same problem. One started under my left arm, started to go away then two small ones started under my right arm. A nurse told me too much caffeine could be the cause but not sure.

Lumps In My Armpit
I've been having lumps under both of my armpits. They get to the point to where I can barely lift my arms and move them. I went and got a mamogram done & it came back normal,no signs of cancer, but for some reason they just keep coming back...If anyone could help me or make any suggestions, i'd really appreciate it.

Well my mother gets those all the time and they are painful to her. Her do says it is from using scented deoderants.. The stuff clogs your pores, and hair follicles, and creates a fester under the skin.

Lumps Under the Armpit
Hi,

i had a mammogram recently for the same thing which came up all clear. I have recently found though that this is possibly a case of blocked lymph nodes. Http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/lymph_node. That's the wiki info on what lymph nodes are. I had extreme pain under my left pit and the who area was very fleshy and swollen. I went to a bowtech practitioner who using the bowen technique stimulated my body to perform lymph drainage within 2 sessions. The area is still puffy but a lot less painful and the lumps are gone. Manual lymph drainage is the proper way to address this.

Why does this happen...The lymph system is a waste removal circulatory system but unlike it's wealthier cousin which has a pump called the heart, it relies entirely on gravity. When ones diet becomes poor moreover when one does less exercise/moving about (my job is such that i've been working at home for the last 6 months) then the body just becomes, for want of a better word, stagnant and all the bad stuff just settles where it is. Bouncing on those mini tramolines is excellent for getting stuff moving again and they are reasonably cheap.

Just my input

My best friend got similar problem underarm on the right... Her physician says no sign of cancer, the nodule is soft. She keeps doing diagnosis every 6 months, she also finds tiny swollen in other area.. High protein, tiredness & work pressure could cause these nodule occur. When she moved her right arm up and backward, painful. I worry about her too. We have been discuss and searching through the net.

We find a chinese medi called 'body builder' from a singapore company. We bought 2 treatments over the net and friend says doing ok so far. She feels like the nodule underarm size getting smaller now and much soft. I am happy to hear that effect and perhaps let you if that works on you! We asked the consultant pretty long time so to make such try...At least less side effects compared to chemical/presciption drugs.

hey...

i just went to see my doctor because i have three bumps under my arm.

I found out that I have Hidradentis Suppurativa .....

Its rare, but its described as pea sized "lumps" that are hard , can be very tendar and red.

they do get worse over time but you can clear them up with antibiotics but they can return in other places. so the best way to et them removed in that spot and not have them show up there again is to have surgery to remove them,..... hope that answers some questions... it did mine.

Lumps in armpits
Hi, I have also been getting these lumps for the past 3 months now and have been to the doctors on several occasions. At first i thought it was a reaction to my deodorant or blocked glands but this isnt the case. The Doctor seems to think it is blocked lymph glands and i have now been on a string on anti biotics. The most recent ones for a month now and are called Doxycycline. Thought it was helping until yesterday when i had 6 outbreak under my right arm. They are so painful. Back to the doctors this morning only to be given yet another months course of the same pills. He also mentioned surgery. Does anyone know of any anti biotics they have used that have worked? Think the ones i am on may not be strong enough. Would rather not go down the surgery route if i can help it.
Thanks. Rolling Eyes

Hey you guys should just relax. Ive been having these outbreaks since teenage years. They come and they go. I got one this morning but never more than two at a time. Once it remained for two weeks the longest period, but they always get smaller and eventually disappear. Relax eat well and exercise, its the bodies way of ridding bacteria and infectious cells in the circulatory system. No need for medications.

I got them too
Mine actually developed within the last few days. I have no pain, my armpit just itches. I have used the same deoderant for several years now, so I don't belive it is an allergic reaction. I have 3 bumps and they were more noticable today. I also felt a lump under one of them about the size of a marble I guess.

Same Situation
I have three of them in my armpit right now and they are very painful... I went to the doctor last time it happened, got an antibiotic and it went away right away. But now they just came back so I'm not sure what to do.
I did notice though that in both cases, last time and this time, a few days before the lumps showed up, I relaxed in a friend's hot tub for a couple of hours. I'm not sure if my pores or glands are having a reaction to that... It's very strange.

niu1545587 same exact thing here. My wife and I relaxed in a friend's hot tub for several hours 4 days ago and now we both have sore knots under our arms that started on the 3rd day. This is not a coincidence.

Moderation and keeping your body pure.
The hot tub you relaxed in obviously needs cleaning. Your bodies are having a reaction to the dirty bacteria ridden water of the hottub you were in. Your pores are absorb a lot, and if the water was very dirty then it can cause your lymph nodes to swell --since your lymphatic system is one of the defenses your body has to clear out impurities. The same goes for cosmetics, soaps and deodorants. Caking on the deodorant or not rinsing soaps well can eventually cause reactions with the body--seeing that most store bought soaps and deodorants contain many chemicals. Using natural products and soaps help, but your most important defense is to be active and eat healthy.
The mini trampoline is a great tool to keep your heart strong, keep your lymphatic system working and help your body work like it should. Our bodies are designed to filter out all this junk, but when we are sedentary or when we overwhelm our bodies with chemicals or foreign products like scented soaps and deodorants our bodies eventually get sick and have a reaction.

It could be almost anything from overexposure to lawn chemicals, household cleaners, laundry detergents, scents, bacteria in water or food, etc. Evaluate yourselves and what you eat, apply to your skin or come in contact with and try cutting it out.

damn dirty hot tub
My armpit started hurting like hell today and I have this little lump in it. I thought it was like a pimple or something but now reading these responses I'm thinking that my pores are clogged because I was in a dirty hot tub 2 days ago.

What should I do to get rid of it?

Bumps
I've had these bumps for a while now and they usually last for 3-4 days w/o the need for medical attention. This usually happens when I wash my face (w/o taking a full shower) or wet my hair during a warm/hot day. I've learned that if I wash my face or wet my hair w/o taking a full shower and wet the back and front of my legs I don't get these bumps. I mentioned this to a dr and he looked at me like I was crazy but it works for me. Today I got one under my left armpit but it was weird since I did not do any of the above. now that I read about deodorant being a possible cause- I'll look into this.
