I am in recovery from about a 3 year battle with anorexia. I have made a ton of progress in just the last six months but still have not had a period. I took myself off the pill in may of this year and that was the last time. I saw my gyn and she ran some test only to find that my body was making zero estrogen. I was instructed to gain about 20 pounds, take vitamins, and get to 20% body fat. Well, I did my part and if you have ever battled this disease you know how hard that can be. I still have had no sign of a period and am getting very discouraged. My doctor has little patience at this point because she feels it's all self induced. I do not want to go on fertility medication because my husband and I are not to that point yet. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this part of recovery?

Maybe you are not getting your period because you are worried about it. That has happened to me alot of times. I almost lost my period from extreme dieting. It lasted 3 days as opposed to 5 days and it was barely there. As soon as I started eating normally it did come back. Keep eating and it should come back soon.
