I am 26 years old and am in recovery from a 3 year battle with anorexia. I had a period that was very light the last year I was on the pill. I started taking the pill in 1994 and took myself off in may of this year. Since stopping the birth control I have not had a period. My doctor took some blood work and a vaginal ultrasound to check out my ovaries. She determined that I had very little endometrium and severe lack of estrogen. I was told to get healthy, gain 20 lbs and exercise. Well, I did my part by getting healthy but still no sign of a period. Does anyone out there have any experience with this and if so, where should I turn? I am getting discouraged because my drive to gain weight is supported by my desire to be a mommy some-day soon.

Hey I also do not get my periods, unless I am on birth control...Why did you stop taking the birht control? I did the same thing but my doctor says it is very important that we do get em every month or at least one every 2 mnths. Because it sheds the icky stuff out of our vagina....(don't know the exact doctor words..) so I decided to go back on the pill untill my boyfriend get married and decide to have kids...My doctor did say that I will need a fertility pill to help us get pregnant..They did a estrogen level count whatever it's called. I don't produce enough estrogen and too much of the male hormone. Hope this helps alittle...Just ask the doctor to do a test to see if you are producing enough estrogen...Byybyy

O-ovulation
I stopped having my period and do not produce estrogen because I had an eating disorder. My questions is, if anyone out there battled the same issue and how long it took for their bodies to heal.

Thanks for the advice.
