I Think I Have Panic Disorder!!!! Posted: 11-07-04 22:32pm
Hey everyone!!! Okay, I experienced my
first panic attack a couple months ago,
and have had four since then. I'v done
some research on them and found that many
people have them and you can't die from
them...Although I feel like i'm going to.
For those of you who don't know what a
"panic attack" is, I will try my best to
explain:
panic attacks are surges of intense terror
when there is no actual danger or
threat.
The physical symptoms are:
*a racing, pounding or skipping heartbeat
*cheast pain or discomfort
*sweating
*trembling or shaking
*difficulty breathing
*a choking feeling
*nausea or abdominal pain
*dizziness
*numbness or tingling
*hot or cold flashes
*feeling of unreality (feeling seperated
form the body)
*fear of losing control or dying
i have had many of these symptoms during
my attacks which come on suddenly. "panic
disorder" is diffrent though. It is a
disorder marked by sudden attacks of
fear..... (constantly being affraid you
are going to have a panic attack). I'm
beginning to get more and more like
that!!! I don't want these things to get
any worse, but I also don't want to have
to be on any kind of medication to stop
them. I guess what I am trying to say is
that I don't want my happiness to be in a
pill. I'd love to have a friend who is
going through this very same thing and has
the same outlook on it as I do!!! So,
someone get back to me on all of this :d
good luck to all of you!!! You are all
awesome for being there for one
another!!!!
:p teresa

Panic attacks took over my life several
years ago at the age of only 16! I chose
to medicate my way through them though.
And I wouldn't say it's happiness in a
pill, but I am definitely allowed to have
a life again. I quit going to school, so
then I failed a couple of classes, I quit
going out with my friends for fear of a
panic attack, and soon enough I was just
so depressed from them that I just layed
on the couch all day long. I started
going to conseling and they prescribed me
zoloft to curb the depression since it is
a cycle (depression can lead to attacks
and attacks can lead to depression) and
xanax prn for an attack that I couldn't
control. I can honestly say that I have
gotten my life back and now I have a
beautiful baby girl. So good luck!!

Dear brittany,
don't worry so much. People have all
kinds of problems, panics and anxieties
all the time.
I used to constantly worry about death!
Now that was horrible, I rather swap for
your pannic attacks!
Hahaha..But jokes aside, my point being
relax it happens to all of us.
And their is hope my friend.
Your soul is asking you to spend some time
with it. Your soul/mind are not working
well together.
You need to spend time with yourself.
Talk to yourself.
Go on an evening walk.
It is scary but tackle the issue head on
with yourself. Why do you feel fearful
like this sometimes?
Put it all in context
think of how you are lucky to have your
life and everything in your life. Feel
for those that are less fortunate than you
that are sufferring with seriously
ailments of cancer, aids, starvation, you
name it.
Be positive, talk to yourself. You can
and you will get over it. I have fought
and succeeded my battle, and so can you.
Take it as a challenge upon yourself.
You have this panic attack problem because
god has put it there to make you
stronger.
I thank god for giving me anxiety, because
I have come out as a so much stronger
person than ever before out of it.
I feel and value and appreciate god, life,
nature everything so much now.
Be with nature.
Be with your family
pray to god to help you, and in return you
will also help him.
Try do charity and stuff, it will further
help put things in perspective for you.
Value the good things in life
be positive
think positive things
relax and don't worry lots of ppl have
pannic attacks problems too and they have
gotten out of it and so can you.
Also meditate, try not to watch to much
tv, relax and be one with yourself
good luck and may god bless you and
relieve you from your pannic attacks soon
