Rolling Eyes Hello, there! I was wondering if there was anyone out there who has uterine fibroids, also polyps. I am 50, no longer desire children, was told hysterectomy was needed, I know about UAE (embolization, which kills the fibroids, leaving the uterus intact) but worry that the polyps will return. ( I don't believe the fibroids return with the UAE procedure)

I am really afraid to have this done. But I have between period bleeding, bloating, constipation and lower back pain. The GYN did a D&C and hysteroscopy, removing the polyps. He showed me the pictures of the fibroids, not a pretty sight. I am afraid of the recovery process too. I had a partial right nephrectomy 6 yrs. ago due to a cancerous kidney tumor, and I feel that since cancer is so rampant in my family, maybe I should just go ahead and have the hysterectomy. What do you think? anyone have this similar situation?? thanks!!!!!

THE ONLY THING IS FOR YOU TO DO IS HAVE THE SURGERY. IF YOU ARE CONSTANTLY HAVING BLEEDING, THE ONLY WAY OUT IS A HYSTERECTOMY. THE BLEEDING WILL ONLY GET WORSE. I HAD MY HYSTERECTOMY 4YRS AGO AND SINCE I HAD IT, I DON'T HAVE ANYMORE FEMALE PROBLEMS.
