I have been on the mini pill for over a year and I was previously on the combined since I was 15 I am now 25 but was taken off combined due to being overweight.

I encountered lots of problems and tried several different mini pills.
I was having irregular periods and sometimes 2 or 3 a month.
I decided to stop the pill and had my last period on 10 aug 03, I havent had one since!

I stopped the mini pill a week after my last period as I wanted my periods to regulate have had all the symptons i.E. Back ache abdominal pain and spots but no period.

I have taken two tests and both were negative so I am not pregnant but I am worried especially after reading about psos.

I encounter abdominal pain at the usual place but also at the left side which I am assuming is ovary pain.

I have read that periods can take time to regulate after the pill but I had a break from sept 02 to jan 03 and my periods became normal.

I dont think worrying is helping. Advice and simular stories please?

Hey! I was on the combined pill and moved to the mini pill which ive been on for about a year. I've had 'ovary' pain and had to have a camera inside me 2 check it out. Its just due to hormones but the thing is, sometimes, tiny cysts can form on the ovary which cause this pain. Thye're not dangerous and will shrink on their own-some people require tablets 2 help them along.
Ur periods will b irregular 4 a while-i havent had one in months!!!!! And also, it takes a while 4 ur body to get back into that cycle again-dont forget, you've been giving it something synthetic and now, its gotta get used to using its own hormones again
hope this has helped a bit!

Thank you for your advice. I have been so worried about this which doesnt help. I didnt want to go to the docs just yet as I hassled him enough when I was taking the pill. Although the doc says it is normal not to have a period as long as you rule out pregnancy it doesnt stop you thinking the worse.

Telford not far from you. Dont you think that the mini pill is much more complicated than the combined. I never knew when my cycle was.
I am glad that someone else has experienced it and that its nothing serious.

Most woman would be glad that they wernt having them!

Hey!
Hey! A fellow english woman! Didnt think there were any here!
Anyway, I do think mini-pill is slightly more confusing cos u cud b pregnant and not know it for months-at least on combined, ur regular. Its not weird or anythin that u aint havin periods yet-it'll take time. I did find the ovary pains pretty bad-i was so worried it might b somethin serious. I was in agony with them soemtimes but there was no explaination 4 them-just hormonal.
On the plus side, it's great not having periods cos I used to be in pain & found them so uncomfortable and cos i'm v careful, I dont think i'll get pregnant unless I want 2!
Love liz x
