I need a thesis statement! Heres my outline for my introduction

i. Genocide is defined as the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group.

A. 6 million jews were killed as a result of adolf hitler’s final solution.
1. They were killed by means of gas chambers, guns, and starving to death or becoming deathly sick.
B. Hitler’s thoughts of the the final solution came about in (approx.) 1941.
2. The plan was in full swing by 1942
thesis statement:

any idea?

Well, it's a toughie. What is your paper on in particuliar? What do you want to focus on? It's hard to pick a thesis when you already seem to have the arguments. If you have a thesis then I can make a thesis statement....

The paper is about the final solution (to have the perfect aryian race and no jews). It cant be oppinionated bc its a research paper so it must be just facts. Did that help at all?

What about writing on how the "final solution" didn't work? About how jews kept their culture alive during the holocaust and later went on to form the state of israel, which will result in the continued preservation of the jewish people. (actaully it had already been created to a degree, but it's creation went against much of the doctrine of orthodox judaism so immigration was more limited as opposed to after the war when there was in influx)

your thesis statement could be something like this:

"despite the genocide commited by the nazi army in auswitz, bergen-belsen and other camps, hitler's "final solution" was ultimately a failure as it resulted in the fortification of the state of israel and therefore garuntee that jewish and the jewish people will survive."

is that too off topic?

Hi Gaby
I'm not sure but I think that hitler hated the jews way before then...Like maybe in the 1930s because things were bad in germany for a lot of people because of world war one...And the jews did better and had stores and stuff and that made the germans like hitler hate them. Don't know if that helps.

You could go into hitlers past a bit more, why he hated jewish people so much, and how he began to rise to power:

1. He blamed the jewish for germany's recession from ww1
2. He was an excellent orator and was angry from all his failings, he thought he was a genious when he really was just average

I cant do it too much on hitler. It has to be soley on the final solution. What it was, and what and who was involved in it. I know he started hating the jews before that but the idea to eliminate all of them didnt come about until 1940

There were a ton of side stories such as medical research *terrible things, he kept children in a special facility called the zoo and did research on them* twin studies were the most barbaric thing ever, he got scientists and doctors involved, kidnapped them and made them work for him, that sort of stuff?

very good, but maybe judiasm and the jewish people will survive, instead of jewish and the jewish people will survive. : )

edited: and maybe you should talk about how he published his plans in the mein kamf years before, (i think it is spelled that way) and noone stopped him, and perhaps you can tie in how the idea of genocide and 'a perfect, one nationality/race' has lived on since the death of hitler, and talk about these instances. oy! I ment to write "jewish culture and the jewish people" Embarassed dang. In my defense, I am writing my own thesis (20 pages - 40% not going so well) and am completely braindead because of it :d

I think ive got it:the idea of a perfect aryan race started off in hitler’s head, but through persuasive speeches and actions, as well as intimidation, he got many people to follow in his footsteps and believe the same as he did.

If that's what you're going to do, find a copy of "mein kamf", it's basically hitler's manifesto. It was written when he was in jail in 1922 and is the formulation of his theories on aryanism etc. Basically he was so burned by germany's defeat in ww1 that he sees the jewish people as the scapegoat and blames them. It may be hard to find though because many bookstores / libraries have banned it because of it's anti-semetic content. But definitely worth reading.

Now that I think about it that wouldnt be a good one, that would be a good one for a paper about hitlers genius..

Maybe I will do that tho

Haha - its the statement in the beginning of your paper that tells the "main idea" of the paper. It basically sums up your whole paper in one sentence.
