I recently had a miscarriage and had the
Dr. Do chromosomal testing on the fetus
to see if there was a reason why the baby
didn't survive. (it was my second
miscarriage, so I was worried. ) the Dr.
Said I shouldn't worry, because after my
first miscarriage, I had a health baby
boy, so I wouldnt be considered high risk
for future pregnancies.
Needless to say, I got the test results
back and it turns out the baby would have
had turner syndrome, which is a rare
genetic disorder affecting women. My Dr.
Said there is "an elevated" chance of a
recurrence in future pregnancies, and that
I should consider an amnio when I get
pregnant next time. I am only 33, and
woudn't even consider an amnio otherwise.
Does anybody know anyone who had a
miscarriage with a genetic defect, and if
so, how were their future pregnancies?
Even though I definitely want to get
pregnant again, I am very concerned for
another pregnancy because I fear what the
outcome may be.
Any advice would be helpful.
