Hi, I am new too all of this. I have just
started going on birth control pills this
year for the first time. I have had a
problem with acne all my life. I'm 25
now. Well, I first went on ortho-tri
cyclen, and my skin was fine at this time,
nothing major. Then I noticed it getting
worse. So, I went off of that, and went
on allesse. Well that was horrible. My
face started breaking out on my cheeks and
down by my jawline all over that area. I
had never even had acne there before in my
life. Big ones. Made me miserable. I
found out it had androgen and this
apparently can cause acne in some people
and it certainly did me. I went off of
those about 3 weeks ago and have been on
yasmin for under a month now. Just going
on the placebo ones this week. So far, it
seems to be ok. I am still breaking out
though. Nothing like I did with the
alleese though. I am a little frustrated.
Can anyone tell me anything about yasmin
and what your experiences has been?
Anything would be appreciated. I've been
at my wits end with these bc pills and
this issue...

I've never heard of birth control pills
causing acne before. The only things
i've ever heard about it have been that it
helps clear up acne. Are you on any
other types of medications that the birth
control pills might have interacted with
to cause it?

Nope, I havent been on any medicine or
anything. I'm positive it was the bc
pills that did it.

Depoprovera has made me break out like
crazy. I don't remember ortho causing me
to break out though.. It helped my skin
some. My dermatologist recommended me to
try yasmin as well. I'm going to my doc
later in the month to ask him about
changing over.

Yeah, I have had acne pretty much all my
life. It was under control at the
beginning of the year. Then I had
irregular periods, so I went on bc to help
that. And ever since its been a
rollercoaster of depression from my face
being broke out. Im hoping this yasmin
does the trick. I hear it takes awhile so
it sucks being impatient. So far, I
havent had any real bad breaking out. My
skin doesnt look soo bad. I just wake up
every morning dreading to see another one
pop up!!
