Lol, when my husband and I were dating we didn't have any problems with that, he was raised a jehovah's witness so his family doesn't celebrate anything. He came to our family functions.

You mean if they live far away or just not living at your own place???
If that is the case. Last year he came over my place after visiting his family first. So he did both.
This year I may have to go with him and he could come to mine. We don't live far away from each other but I do spend night over at his place and he does too.

Well I live with my fiance but last yr we went over to my families holiday parties and what not so this yr we most probably will attend his families stuff. Unless they dont do anything good in which case we agreed to do our own thing.

I wouldn't really know, because this will be the first year that i've actually been with someone over christmas. I'd say that we'll probably each be with our own families for the first part of the holiday and then we'll visit his parents and then my parents and then we'll probably do our own thing later in the evening. Smile

Well, with my ex, I spent christmas at his house, cause my family wasn't doing anything. I don't know about this year...We never really talked about it...I'd kinda like to do both. Go to his family and mine, which wouldn't be that hard since they all live near each other (which is sooo weird). I guess i'll find out in two weeks when I go home for thanksgiving!!!

We live together but usually christmas day is spent with my family and boxing day with his and then next time the other way round.
However, this year (our 4th christmas together) we are gonna be very very selfish. We aren't visiting anyone and not having anyone round.
It will be a quiet peaceful day with just us and the cats. We even have the perfect reasoning for everyone so as not to offend - I need peace and quiet during my recovery period expected to take upwards of 12 weeks to complete especially after today's complications.
