Hi, my name is greg, :p
i have been treated for siezures for 30 years now and am searching for someone who has the same type of problems that I have. While I am awake I don't have any problems , if I have a fit I usually sit up in bed (really quickly), and then mostly fall back down heavily onto the bed sometimes striking my head on the bed head or I fall onto the floor.
I only know what is happening usually just as I begin to fall but obviously am unable to stop from falling. I have suffered some neck injuries over the years and am really frustrated because the medication seems to work less well as time passes.
Are there any other options Question Question Question

Nocturnal
My nocturnal seizures are controlled by medication, but I too have auras during the day (due to stress???) and they scare the heck out of me even though they appear to last only a few seconds. I always worry that a true seizure will develop. My neurologist dismisses these episodes.

my auras have never developed into true seizures.they are hard to explain ,the feelings of these. arnt they.i take 600 mg tegretol for my management of nocturnal seizures.i wonder why a neurologist dismisses episodes of aura? they are a real and frghtenibg episode to the person having them thats for sure !

I have the same auras during the day, but I am treated for nocturnal epilepsy,it is really horrible because when I am falling asleep I get a horrible dejavu and feels lyk i am going to die sometimes, but i can control it until I fall asleep, then while i am asleep it must come bk to me and eventually go into an epileptic fit.I really hate having it, I am taking lamotrigine 25mg but i am off to docs agen soon to try n up my medication plus i have been under alot of stress lately and it has been really warm in my house.really need to find out exactly what triggers them off.

yes u need to have another blood test to check your levels. i did this after having a succession of night fits and my levels were of a childs ! so i went from 200 mg to 600mg and have been seizure free for a year .
