Weird situation.....I'll try to be as clear as possible.

Ok, I started the pill in the beginning of september, the 6th I think, I had just finished my period. I stopped taking it september 16th because I had heavy heavy bleeding, and my nurse that I had told me if I bleed more than normal while on the pill to discontinue its use. I started bleeding sept. 13th and stopped the 20th. Well I talked to my nurse again and she said to expect my period a month after I stopped, which would have been around oct. 18th. Well it is nov. 1st and I just got it today.

In between mid-sept and now I have been eating a lot, but in the last 2-3 days it has slowed considerably. I just got a cold, but two weeks ago had a stomach ache for 3 days. My breasts just got tender this weekend, which made me think I might be either getting my period, finally, or be pregnant. I had no morning sickness and my nipples didn't darken or anything, but I was confused.

Ok, so back to me getting my period today. I woke up and, yay, it was here. What a relief, at first. Then at about 10:30 I started getting cramps, which is normal, they weren't that bad. Well at around 11:15-11:20 they got really bad, I almost had to leave class(im in college). Well I was walking back to my room and I almost had to sit down it hurt so bad, and I got to the bathroom once I got to my room. I had a blood clot about the size of a quarter, it was jelly like and dark. I don't clot often and when I do they are very small, so this concerned me. After the clot passed, I had no more cramps at all. A lady I know through a band we are both fans of had told me a story about when she found out that her depo shot was not working. She had unbelieveable cramps and then had a clot, and later found out it was a miscarriage. So this also concerned me.

I know it is normal to clot when you are on the pill, it is normal that your period will be irregular in the first 1-3 packs of your pill and that if you stop it will be irregular. But I also know that you can bleed normally when you are pregnant. I guess my question is what do you think? Could the clot be a miscarriage? Is everything normal(im not pregnan)? Could I be pregnant? I am not ready to go to the doc yet, I want to see what happens this week with my period, if anything is not normal. Im thinking of taking a preg. Test this weekend when im with my boyfriend.

Please let me know your thoughts, whatever they are.

Thanks
badgersgirl

i recently had a miscarriage about 4 months ago. There was bad pain. I had horrible cramps. I did have my regular period and I passed a pretty big clot. I went to my doctor after I got off and come to find out it was a miscarriage. I would get a blood test if I were you and good luck. If you need to talk get back to me

i am now 2 months pregnant

I had a miscarriage and it doesnt look like a clot. You will get tissue or the hole fetus will come out. It doesnt look like a clot and trust me you will beable to tell the difference or not. You could be having a miscarriage. Its a good thing to know either way. I saw dont wait, find out and if you are, you will know what to look for.

It could have been a miscarriage. I miscarried a couple of months ago, and I was only 5 days late for my period but i'd had a couple of blood tests so I was definitely pregnant.

My period was not any heavier than normal but I definitely had more cramping, and more clots than usual.

Since you've already had the bleeding if it was a miscarriage chances are you've expelled everything and the pregnancy hormones may be out of your system, i'm not sure how long they last in the body after a complete miscarriage.

If you really want to know I recommend getting a blood test, it will tell you exactly what your hcg levels are. An hpt can only detect levels from 50-100 and in the case of my pregnancy/miscarriage my hcg only got to 29 so it didn't even show up on the hpt.

Hope that helps.
