Q: Stomach Ulcer?

Does anybody know what a stomach ulcer feels like? It feels as though I have a constant stomach ache/heart burn (like the last month or so). I'm under some stress right now, but i'm been this stressed (if not more stressed) before, so i'm pretty sure it's not that. I just don't know what this is!!! Anybody have an idea?

I looked on wedmd and it says that being under alot of stress and heartburn, itchy inbetween the breasts, stomach ache and some other things are signs of an ulcer. I only know this cause ryans mom had to look it up for me since I was havin the same symptoms after having mackenzie. Good luck

Re: Stomach Ulcer?
I always thought it was just this horrible stomach ache, with a empty stomach feeling 24/7. I dont know, my father continues to try to scare me because I always used to drink soda and he would say that I have an ulcer when I kept complaining that I was always hungry. I actually believed him! But the real reason was that I was pregnant, lol! I was wondering why I was so damn hungry..

Sam, I hope you find out what's wrong and I hope you feel better!

Heres what my book says...
Pain associated with a gastric ulcer is located in the high epigastrium (that means stomach...Probably right below your sternum) and occurs spontaneously about 1 to 2 hours after meals. The pain is described as burning or gaseous.

Arrow there may be no symptoms of ulcers or the individual may experience:

a gnawing or burning pain in the abdomen between the breastbone and the navel. The pain is usually worse a couple of hours after a meal or in the middle of the night when the stomach is empty.

Nausea

vomiting

loss of appetite

loss of weight

tiredness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer)

weakness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer)

blood in vomit or stool. When blood is in the stool, it appears tarry or black (symptom of a bleeding ulcer).

Arrow treatment for ulcer

along with reducing stress and modifying lifestyle, doctors treat gastric and duodenal ulcers with several types of medicines, including h2-blockers, proton-pump inhibitors and mucosal protective agents. When treating h. Pylori, these medications are used in combination with antibiotics. If medication is ineffective or complications arise, surgery may be required.

Hope you feel better sam! Maybe you should go to the doctor.

Hmmmmmmm, this is starting to not sound like a stomach ulcer. I don't have any of the pain, weekness or bloody anything! Ug. I hate stress... Which is probably what this is. I'm just tired and nauseaus/heart burny. It's weird... I'm just hungry now!!!!!

I have been really stressed out, plus i'm on my period, so my stomach has been bothering me a lot. You could just be getting the flu. Try drinking some hot chocolate, or soup. It really helps believe me. Adam made me both last night, because he left to go to his apartment quick, and called his mom and told her that I was having feminine problems, and thats what she said to do, so he came over and made me hot cocoa, and soup. Lol. It really helps, even for a upset tummy.
