Anyone ever use them? I bought them by
mistake, and wondered if anyone else used
them. I heard you can be sensitive to
perfumes down there... Any thoughts?

Ew gross! I'd never buy scented tampons!
Yeah you aren't supposed to use scented or

Lol - I didnt think of that...
But some people have their period during
pregnancy - so I guess it could happen.
I've used scented tampons before, actually
. . . A ton of times. And i've never
had a problem.

I've never used tampons period. I'm
afraid it'll get lost up there, lol.
That's why I had so much trouble putting
that long stick in me with the cream to
cure my infection. Thank god it's over
and done with! But I dont think it worked
because I never stuck the stick all the
way in, up to my uterus, lol I was
squirming and I just couldn't do it, so
the doc is gonna check this thursday and
if it's still there I gotta do it again
for 7 executive days. Grrrr...

Toxic tampons
the issue of toxic tampons is not an old
one and to our frightened dismay we have
found that a large percentage of the
general populous have forgotten the
dangers involved with using mass marketed
commercial tampons.
The hazards associated with these personal
hygiene products, is neither benign nor
hidden. It is quite obvious the perils
women are faced with when forced to choose
the toxic variety tampon. This is usually
the result of mis-information, lack of
viable sources, or just plain ignorance.
Commercial tampons which have been
whitened with chlorine dioxide, generate
harmful dioxins that are not only
unhealthy in low level amounts from direct
exposure they can also be catastrophically
alarming when put into the body. Even
low-level exposure of toxic dioxins can
result in numerous cancers, reproductive
debilitations, immune system breakdown,
and skin lesions. One must also take into
account that most commercial tampons are
manufactured with mass produced rayon
mixed with cotton blends. These
synthetics can amplify breeding conditions
for several known bacteria and have
reportedly triggered allergic reactions in
women. Another known carcinogen found in
commercial tampons that is not often
discussed is synthetic fragrance. While
it appears to be a rather innocuous
ingredient, it can silently pack a punch!
Chemical perfume ingredients may cause
rashes, minor sores, discomfort, and
increased bleeding. While all of this is
disheartening, fear not. There are
several alternatives and methods for
assisting women during that time of the
month. The safer alternatives are
described below with some helpful links.
Choose wise...Choose safe…choose
natural.
Use tampons that are certified organic or
made with untreated 100% cotton.
Avoid chlorine-whitened tampons; stick
with the natural choice and demand oxygen
or hydrogen peroxide bleached tampons.
A great alterative is a natural or organic
fiber reusable menstrual pad. They are
very economical, washable, and last for
years.
steer clear of
scented tampons or toiletries. You can
almost be guaranteed they are scented with
synthetic and often petroleum based
chemical fragrances.
It is preferable that tampons come
packaged in natural paper board and not
polyethylene.

I would never use pads! Yuck! Once
you use tampons (and get them in the right
way) you will never go back. I remember
when I first tried to use a tampon I had
it in totally wrong. You know how you
insert it up to the ridges and then push
it up? Yeah, well I just held it right
there and pushed it up, so it was hanging
half way out!Lmao! Gross, but so darn
painful. But once I got one in the right
way I never ever used a pad again. As
long as you change your tampon regularly
you will not get tss and everything will
be fine. You just have to make sure to
shower regularly and not leave your tampon
in too long. Pads, to me, feel so gross.
You can actually feel yourself leaking
and then you have to like sit there in it.
Ugh.
Anyway, you aren't suppose to use scented
anything down there. (like all of the
other girls said) it makes it more likely
for you to get bacterial vaginosis and
yeast infections. Not good.

Thanks ladies, lol.
I agree, I used pads for my first 2
periods, and then had to wear a tampon
because I had swimming class in gym at
school, and i've never gone back. Pads
are sooo gross!!!

I never used those bc it was like a
flashing light saying, smell me, i'm on my
period, lol. But that's just the type I
did use when I accidently used them, there
are prolly a thousand different kinds.

My doctor told me not to use them and I
trust my doc! Plus, for anyone who has
ever had any kind of infection, you can
get them so easily from using scented
tampons, strong soap, douche or even
underwear that aren't white in the crotch.
When I was a teenager I never had a
problem with any of that and used scented
tampons for years! Then I got bv and once
you get it, it comes back all of the
freakin time, so I cannot use anything
like that.
