Hot Flashes
Good, because I was beginning to think I have a weird fever or something. The other night my husband got up and slept on the couch because I was putting off so much heat.

It is just like when women go through menopause, it is the horomonal changes your body is going through, some people get them, some don,t... And then others get them for the ones that don't... Sorry it sounds like you are in the last group and I hate being hot at all, so I hate the ones I do get, couldn't imagine having them all day!!! Sad

Hot Flashes
I am about four to five weeks pregnant and for the last week I have been getting hot flashes in the mornings. When I shed a little clothes or pull up my sleeves, I then go into a cold flash or chills. The word "chills" is very scary for me because any internet search says this is a dangerous symptem to watch out for. My doctor does not seemed to be worried though? I need to know why he is not worried. Does anyone else get hot flashes followed by chills?

Hot Flashes
I am 10 weeks pregnant and feel like my temperature has been all over the place. I also have hot flashes during the day out of the blue, and it's embarrassing. I still haven't told my co-workers i'm pregnant so I have no reasonable way to explain why I turn beet red for no reason and have to take off my sweater. then in the evenings, I get really chilly, more so than usual...And I live in ca where it's been warm lately so it makes no sense. Anyway, I think it's all part of the fun of being pregnant. I read a good book that said if you don't get one symptom, you'll get another....So I guess this is my trade off for not having hemorrhoids or major morning sickness. Hang in there!!!

i am so releived to find somebody who is also having hot flashes and cold chills! You've described exactly what i'm experiencing. My doctor says its one of the symtoms of pregnancy but I haven't found much written about it. And since we've decided not to tell anyone about the pregnancy until after the third month, I haven't been able to ask friends and family. It has been going on for a month but as I also had a bad cold I thought it was the cold. Now the cold symtoms are gone but not the hot flashes and cold chills. I am in my 7th week. But I do wish to learn more about why it occurs and perhaps how to avoid it if possible.

This Is Fun
I am 21 weeks preggers and I just woke up this morning freaking out because I was soakin wet with sweat. Thank god I can across this site, I was about to call my doc. He said that this would happen but I didnt think like this. I have another question though. What is the best thing to eat when you feel like you have waited to long. You are past the hungry stage (that only lasted about 30 mins) and now you feel sick. Im always out and about and try to keep something with me, but sometimes I forget. I cant stand crackers and I need something new to try. Please help me out on this one thank you

What to Eat
I have always carried snacks..But now I have a reason!! I understand what your saying about crackers...I started making a snack mix, I use a sandwich baggie and fill it full with gold fish crackers, raisins, banana chips or dried fruits, nuts and pretzels. That way I have a variety...I also carry pineapples chunks in the little containes cause they taste good cold or hot, and juice pouches!!! Good luck finding snacks..Healthy happy pregnancy!!! :d

hi, the part about the hot flashes so to speak ..My daugher is 20 and she is 7 1/2 months along and she is having hot flashes reallllllllllllllly bad that they make her so sick and that she feels like she is going to throw up. I called the hospital and they told me for her to eat small meals and alot of fluids and stay out of heat ..Also to put cold washcloth on her neck , under her arms and behind her knees when this happens, that is your hot spots ..But, I think she has found a nice cool bath is simply great. About the cracker part. They told my daughter is suck on ice cubes and that did help even though I know you can't keep them in your purse...Lolol good luck with your baby.

Nearly 7 Weeks
I am so glad I found this site. Its such a relief to find out that i'm not alone. I am having sickness in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night. I have hot flashes every now and then and lots of cold chills. The thing that bothers me the most is not being able to eat. I used to love food. But now the thought of most things makes me sick. I have actually lost a few pounds from not eating properly. My doctor said she's seen that happen a lot. I hate eating crackers and often find myself waiting to long to eat and end up feeling sick. The one thing that I can actually keep down is a bowl of cereal. Cheerios and special k with strawberries so far with lactose free milk. I would love to hear others suggestions on what to eat.

Hi I am 30 weeks prego and sorry to let yall know the hot flashes only get worse!!!!! I can't seem to get cooled off at all and they last all day long. As soon as I get home I shed all my clothes and get a huge glass of ice water but nothing seems to help!!! The doc says it is all normal due to hormonal changes. And it supposedly wont go away till the baby is born.

Hot Flashes
Ok, I am glad to know I am not the only one here with this problem. I thought I was crazy. I am 33 yrs. Old and this is my third child. My oldest is 15! My husband and I decided to start what some call a second family...Even though both our children are ( biologically our children ) , some people think because of the age difference between our kids that we might have a blended family...But we have been married since we were 18...We never found it easy to conceive so our children are spaced out...One is 15 and one is 8. So this time we got help...After many infertilty treatments and fertility shots...I had an iui done to conceive this baby. I am 14 weeks pregnant. I had terrible morning sickness with both of my other children right to the day I delivered each of them. I was even hospitialized with our first born for being so sick and dehydrated. For this baby I have not had morning sickness. I get weak feeling, and sometimes faint and I don't sleep well, but no throwing up. So I felt I got off easy this time. I could eat food and actually enjoy this pregnancy then came the hot flashes. I thought I was crazy...Hot one minute, cold the next...I thought all the hormones and fertility shots I took to conceive this baby had thrown my system into early menopause or just messed up my hormones. I want to try for more children after this baby is born and thought I might be on borrowed time because I had never heard of someone having hot flashes unless they were starting menopause. I am so happy to know I am not alone and others have had them too. My baby seems to be fine and growing well, I am 14 weeks...So I think everything is fine even though I have experienced the hot flashes. I do not get them as much now as I did earlier in the pregnancy...So maybe they will go away completely.
