Hello all, new here and could really do with some advice. My lymph nodes started to come up about 6 or 7 years ago. I went to my doctor a year and a half ago and she said it is glandular fever. Some of them, the ones under my arms and behind my ears have gone rock hard while the others are moveable and sometimes hurt. I have seen her recently and said that six year glandular fever must be a record and could she refer me for a biopsy as I am getting sick of this. I am tired all the time, my skin looks like an old womans and I keep getting rashes, colds and sore throats. My hair is dry, my vision is full of floaters that came when my glands started coming up and I have numerous other things that are not as they should be. I have had a full sexual health screen which came back all ok and I do not know what to do now. The dr said she would refer me over a month ago but she made it clear she was doing so under duress and I know she will have made this clear in her referal letter . She said no-one would bother to do a biopsy on me and that I just have to live with it. I am worried that as I have had no letter about a biopsy that she has f*#!Ed it up for me and I will have to go back to her again and ask for something that any normal person would want in the circumstances. What can I do now??? Someone must have an answer to this.

Hi
Well ive just gotten over glandular fever. My symptoms were very different than yours. My dr actually said my case was one of the worse, glandular fever has alot to do wih your glands but the virus actually lives in your liver and splein. My glands were swollen alot and I had very high fevers and intense pain in my liver. I slept for 6 months only waking up once a day to drink some fluid and try and eat.

I have been up and about and back to work for about 4 months......Im still tired and catching alot of other things like the flu and broncitis but I dont think ive ever heard of continuous glanduar fever before, my dr told me that the symptoms can last 6-12 months but after that it should get better so if you have had it for that long there must be something else wrong.

Id definately get a second opinion if you can. I know how it feels to have drs not do anything about helping you find out whats wrong. It really sucks. But dont give up. I could have died because a dr didnt believe me. I thinks its stupid she told u that noone would help.

Anyway goodluck
